Hi SavannahLove, I'm also a witch and psychic also Mother Mary healed my asthma in Lourdes when I was a child I have always felt close to her and she did help bring me to Jesus who I am very devoted to! I love them both very much. I have felt very close to the both of them and they've really helped me and I do feel and sense their presence, Rose is a very important rose for Mary and femininity, have you researched the mythical and healing properties of rose? I would recommend you do that. Perhaps also get yourself a bottle of rose essential oil and blend it with some carrier oil and wear it massage it into your neck and heart area and perhaps have some Rose's on your altar, I don't know much about milk however but milk is also important for Imbolc and St Brigit, also when a lady is pregnant she has milk in her breasts so perhaps this could be for working with your heart chakra. Honey I'm not sure about though so you must find some information on that. I hope this helps!

The "Virgin" is what is called an intercessory. She is a "go between" for the practitioner and their deity. The point of whether Jesus is a deity or a prophet makes no difference in the aspect of how a person deals with this entity. Another example would be Papa Legba, Saint Michael or Saint Lazarus. They are also "go betweens" for mortal men and the spirit world. Nice old post being resurrected.

my dads side is catholic, i was raised Anglican always had an odd connection with the Virgin Mary [mom use to tell me stuff about her, specifically why Catholics pray to her, why we don't and why Catholic views about her were misguided] but i've always been drawn to her, she seems like a very positive archetype. a witch i follow Kelly-Ann Maddox works with her [or at least has her image as an archetype] and i know plenty who feel some type of connection. i don't work with her, but she seems very lovely, if you connect with her that's nice. regarding not connecting with Jesus or God, that's fine too, i look at it like people who mix pantheons, you might worship Zeus but feel no connection to any other Greek gods. nothing wrong with that, just who you're drawn to.

That's a cool way to see it Neko. I for one see Jesus as mainly a human revolutionary trying to fight the Jewish churches and free the people from capitalist ideas (like taxes) and from roman oppression. I guess I believe he was communist before communism became a word.

Mary to me is simply the mother of him. And she probably had a husband who contributed to birth Jesus instead of the virgin concept. I also feel Catholics made many adjustments to their religion to make assimilating the pagans more easy for them.

That's just my belief though. I was raised Catholic myself and my mom is a Christian Scientist (not to be confused with scientology)
