There is a free book available online called The Book of Aquarius. It was written by someone who's claimed to have read thousands of alchemical texts and provides a recipe for the Philosopher's Stone. Yeah, sounds odd, but it is free and the author backs up all his information with quotes taken from actual alchemical texts.

I think of alchemy as scientific magick. Wonderful, powerful, dangerous, but more logical. I've wanted to do alchemy but it's not what I truly wanted to do even if when i didnt know it.

I work a lot with all three types of alchemy. Although only teach it to those in my coven. If any of you are really interested in learning about it apply for the legion of light and dark. Or you could try experimenting a researching for yourself :)

Anyone looking to start it should know the three diffrent types. These types are:
- Practical Alchemy. Working with base metals and trying to convert them to gold.
-Spiritual Alchemy. Working with your own "soul", converting it from the dormant state of lead to the god like state of gold.
-Plant/Herbal Alchemy. Conducting experiments with many different natural things. Like plants and animals.

But if you should wish to learn alchemy it is best toix and match all three. It will get you the furthest. Also the Philosophers stone is a big thing in practical Alchemy... But it's not a stone it's a method of turning lead to gold and is named the philosophers stone because it changes the stones from one thing to another. The Philosophers part of it is not a" thinker", but in alchemy a philosopher is a child of nature wishing to obtain knowledge.

Good Luck

A few words of warning though that I forgot.
Alchemy can get a bit pricey for some materials so keep it simple. And also the philosophers stone is more than one might think. It can require sacrifice of blod and to much time for most people to gei it. So naturally one hasnt been truly made for a verey verey long time. But some pieces to it may provide Invaluable insight as to how it works which will help you be more efficient.
And yes it is a bit of magical science. But be safe and have fun ;P
