Personally, I cannot stand this whole thing about "child abuse poem" and 'To those who hate Emos/Goths' thing going around. I think if you want to be seen as professional, you should have a professional bio. It should tell others what they need to know about you. It's fine to express yourself, be it through a few sentences or a poem, it's fine to share all that. But these profiles that are endlessly long are painful to look at.
i wrote my profile when i first joined, i change it once a year [how long i've been practicing] it has some pretty basic stuff, my age, birthday, favourite band, stuff like that it doesn't have, and i get mail all the time with people telling me how brief my profile is.
it's not so much i hate people with no information or LONG copy/paste stories, it's just a little pointless, if you like it, i don't care, but a bit of information would be nice, so i know what type of person i'm talking to [nice/troll, young/old, fluffy/informed]
But it's a "personal bio". There's chances that you'll find some personal stuff on there, but of course they'll have to keep it clean, for there's people that might wonder around here and end up traumatized because of the dirty profiles.
i dont mind long profiles i normally skip over the repeat peoms and such i would much rather help someone with a long but reasonable and informative profile than help a person with nothing filled out (i tend to ignore these people) just my opinion.
