Smoking herbs
By:
Okay, one of my reasons for making this post =, I ran out of tobacco..

Right the herbs I have on me left are:

Dried Sage

Dried thyme

Dried mint

I also have ground ginger but it doesnt have a green underlable so im guessing products have been used to grow it..

I'm wondering what the effects would be of smoking single amounts or multiple amounts of these?

Thanks

Lol, I have been there! There are, of course, herbs you can smoke, - I tend to use coltsfoot as a tobacco substitute. The thing is, unless you want to burn your mouth and chest, you need to 'CURE' them.

How to do this - 1 teaspoon of honey in 200ml of water. Heat it until the honey dissolves. Then, spread the herb across a plate, so it's kinda flat. then sprinkle the honey water on it, until it's moist but not soggy.

Over two days or so, turn it, when it's just sligtly sticky to touch, it's ready. I usually mix it wit some tobaco becauase I am a coward !

Anyway, hope I explained that properly. Strange day ^^

Well truthfully, I wouldn't advocate smoking in any form. I am no expert, but there is much talk of Pyrrolizadine Alkaloids in herbs lately, not sure how combustion affects these. I would be interested in what you find out. Of course there is history of smoking herbs in magick, as I'm sure you're aware XD ! As I said though, I'm not the expert )

Herbs containg PA's (Pyrrolizidine Alkaloids)

It has been estimated that only three percent of the worl's flowering plants contain PA's (Pyrrolizadine Alkaloids) and less then 50 percent of them have shown or exhibited hepatotoxcicity (Toxic to the Liver). There are more commonly found in the Boraginacea Family i.e. Comfrey, Heliotrope, Forget Me Knots, Borage; the Compositae Family i.e. Marigolds, Dahlias, Chrysantehmums, Heleinums; and the Orchidaceae Family i.e. Orchids; and even the Fabaceae Family.

Some concern is the health risk associated with the use of medicinal herbs that contain PAs, notably borage leaf, comfrey and coltsfoot in the West, and some Chinese medicinal herbs in the east .

There are currently no regulations regarding the use, sale, or distribution of an PA conatining plants as multiple health agencies have determined little to minimal risk in their use. One Austarlian study produced results with an outcome of some toxcicity in cows.
