Witchcraft (not Wicca)in the old days meant "wisdom". Much of it handed down from person to person, much of it studying. Most of all, intelligent "thinking". When a witch was asked a question he/she would say "It depends what you mean by your question."
So now, I will ask. What do you mean by "creation"? Creation of the Universe? The Cosmos? This planet we live on? Life? None of those questions can be answered by this sort of thread! It would take up a lot of space. Study, and you will find answers. And, as it is always posted on this site, you may believe whatever you wish to believe.

Wicca is primarily a religion that worships nature, and sees all creation as sacred. all Wiccan holy days follow the cycles of nature and the changes in the seasons. Wicca also worships both a male and female deity, a female Goddess and a male God, who had together created the world and everything in it.

As a post script to these great posts, I would like to say that, in my view, creation isn't something that 'happened', it is an eternal process :)

So do you believe in conscious creation?

i believe that atoms and molecules rule the world,so what ever we think,it is the atoms and molecule that think for us,and if you grasp this thought and go against your own thinking, then your life path will alter.but its hard to change your mind on something,so i believe having your own say puts you on a higher standing of life, hence why i am learning spells.but i am more into mind control.

@Brysing: So witchcraft was never a religion when it originally emerged from the infinite possibilities of ideas and behavioral patterns that humans invented for themselves to follow? And then also even after it evolved from its root form?
@Zebrah:Your posts in this thread seem very aligned with the religious Wiccans mind set. I'd say that many Wiccans agree with your ideas on this. So far they've been the most...clarifying on my question xD
Thanks everyone for your posts.

Cassiel. To the extent that witches, even of old, believed in a deity, usually two fold, male and female, then it was, and still is a religious belief. But it was not really "organised". Most witches were solitary, and secret, apart from the knowledge in their immediate "village". Most people in those days were not very literate, and would consult the " the wise one" for all sorts of ailments, emotional as well as physical. But, in the sense of a "belief" then witchcraft was in deed a "religion".

D: Sorry Brysing, I re-read your first post and now I think that I mistook it. I get what your saying. I feel dumb now for getting your post wrong. My apologies.
So, what I've collected from this thread so far is that even though there is not a written piece of lore pertaining to how the entirety of what we experience, as human beings, came into creation it is perfectly acceptable to deduce from the pantheistic nature of WICCA that the "entirety of what we experience, as human beings" sprang from the male and female aspects that are the predominate deities found in said religion.

Yes,indeed. It was always a question of "polarity", male and female. It was always believed that it takes two to tango! Of course, by the time Darwin came along (among others!) the theory of evolution blended very well with the witch beliefs. That the origin of life was a number of "cells" bonding together for protection. Eventually, the cells, being a form of very primitive life, expanded, with more cells "joining up",we still have forms of that type of "life", sponges for instance. These were "self procreating". But as life became more complex, each form of life needed to be "seeded". Plants first, of course, but then other more advanced forms of life. It was the beginning of the knowledge that life (as we now know it) needing male and female aspects. Hence the belief that all life starts with an egg. Or rather, two eggs! It is why we still have eggs at Ostara. (Easter).
