FallenStar, you bring up a good point about putting tried and tested, but...I have come across "Flying" spells where this same information is posted ("tried and successful" or "it worked for me"). So that might not always work.

To be honest, I think that a forum, or at least a thread should be created that is designated for people "reporting" fluffy spells or spells that could be considered "questionable". This forum/thread could simply provide caution to people so that they don't get their hopes up and dreams of magicks crushed. How does this sound?

Another problem that I see is in the actual categorizing of the spells. For instance: whilst it may be appropriate to have a section marked "Trick Spells", why is there a su-category of "Flying Spells"? If anyone knows [or if Pet happens to feel like explaining this] , then please do tell! Should all of the spells in "Trick Spells" be seen as discredulous and only there as a sort of "fluff-net"? Thanks for any insights!

I am not questioning that there are real spells, I am only questioning how to catch the fluffy ones. I am perfectly able to cast and write mine own spells. Thanks for the offer anyway though.

I think the main problem is, that too many young, inexperienced people just come on here with one thing set on their minds: Spells. They don't know about basics, or anything else for that matter. If someone is truly serious about learning, and they've already read up on the right things to do, then they will know what spells to consider "fluffy" and which ones to consider trying. My suggestion is, that before entering the site, a person must read and agree to a statement. This statement should mention learning the basics and where in the site to find the basics. I can't stress it enough to the newcomers who want to learn things, that the basics is what needs to be done. Otherwise they go to the chat and the forums asking how to turn into vampires, werewolves, and mermaids, and wanting to shoot energy blasts out of their hands, and wanting to learn how to become That's So Raven overnight etc. Once they know what magic really does do, will they be able to tell fluffy from not-fluffy.

Heywatsup, most people skim-read terms and conditions!

Yes. i can definitely agree that people skim through those types of things. but, if we write it correctly, we'll be able to capture the attention of these such people. I know that if i was looking to turn into a vampire and i saw a big paragraph that said "vampire" in it, id read the entire thing. I understand not many are like that, but its still worth a try.
