Actually, Christ wasn't speaking English so he said neither "witch" nor "wiccan". What he said was another word entirely which doesn't have a direct translation in English. Get over it folks, you can interpret it either way. Just do what feels right and don't judge people for what they choose to do.

I'm really wondering why people are basing the disagreement with Christian Wiccan practices on Deity, when deities are, in comparison, only a fraction of belief from a religion.

Christianity and Wicca are two completely different religions, I know, I'm a practicing Catholic whos studied Wicca. However, you can be any religion and still practice magick. But you cannot be a Christian Wiccan, to call yourself such would be paramount to proclaiming oneself a Hindu Catholic, the beliefs completely contradict each other
To do so is basically saying you believe in both polytheism and monotheism, which once again is a huge contradiction

How long is this thread going to go on? It has been said, many times, you may believe anything you wish. What is your belief may not be the belief of others. So what? It is your belief that counts.

Arabus I could not agree with you more! Christ teachings also had mystic followers before and around the time when Christianity was being developed. The council of bishops were hired and paid by a political leader to develop a religion to reject mystic beliefs in the goal to unify the faith. (personally i believe it was done to brainwash and control the minds of many) that being said Christianity was developed to stand alone same goes with wicca. Wicca is a faith that stands alone as well, to take the name of a religion means you accept everything that religion believes and to take the name of two religions that contradict each other mean the product has no true foundation, nothing to stand on because in it's name revels conflict.

Couldn't agree more, but there is still quite alot of mysticism within the Catholic Church, its simply reffered to as "Christian mysticism" as opposed to magick or sorcery or anything like that

you see, thats the good thing about paganism! you can pretty much believe in whatever you want, worship whoever you want and embrace who you are and build apon that! You can believe in whatever you want, even god or jesus! now personally i feel that that may be an attempt to branch out of your christian roots but you fear that if people know your a full pagan than they will call you a satanist so you want to be able to say that you are at least somewhat christian in hopes of warding away religious discrimination. however that is merely my opinion and it is by no means an insult to you. But if it is true, you need to be able to be honest with yourself an embrace your differences with society. remember, you are the only person who has the ethical right to dictate who you can be and anybody who tries to deny you certian rrights because of your faith is not worth anything. I hope that you find this comment helpful and blessed be
