I would worry about increased fire danger. Just use white candles to stand-in for the colors you don't have.

As LdyGry pointed out, you can use a white candle to substitute for any color.

While it does have things associated with it that may not seem like it would fit, the most important thing to remember about white if you are using colors for representation is that white is the substitute for any color. Red, blue, black..doesn't matter. White can stand in for it.

Such things as colors only have meaning to us, we create the meaning and associations they supposedly have, so I'd not worry about it were I you.

on that note on colours i will like to add the counter point that they have meaning not only because we say so its cause they hold certain energies. Different colours carry various different frequencies of energy doing different functions. I do not think it is wise to over look this, everything in the universe has a meaning and a purpose nothing . Same thing relating to our chakras, they carry various kinds of frequencies and colours which relate to those frequencies.

My two cents

This idea of coloured candles is very "modern" in witchcraft. No witch had coloured candles in ancient times. Candles were not believed to have any "power" at all! They were merely used for seeing in the dark when casting indoors. A single candle may, of course, be used as "a focal point"; but in that case it is the flame that is important, not the colour of the candle.

i was troubled today since i have been looking for green candles for a few weeks now

but then i felt something! the color is not important
the feeling and intent is

we need tools because we can't work without them to project what we want or what we wish for

but once we are at the level where we don't have to use tools
then we will see how powerful our mind and energy is

btw just like other's have said a white candle can be used

i love candles and love candle magic
but from my personal experience i know that
just a simple white candle can do the work
with meditation and your energy it can work

I went with color paper, from the bottom of the candle to the middle, not the top so it's safe from the flame. It went well.
