Fun Competition

Hello guys, i have been in to magic for many years now and im getting sick of the stigma we have that we are all decrepit ugly people with hunched backs, boggle eyes and warts.

For a bit of fun lets prove them all wrong, lets have a competition to discover the best looking male and female practitioner. people can vote on this thread and after two weeks the male and female members with the most votes would be the winner.

Lets show the public that we are not ugly, old and wierd but good looking people who are special.

Let the competition begin

What if some of us are ugly? Don't you think they can be offended and besides, how is this conpetition going to be decided. Also, i've been practicing the craft for about 30 years now and I've never heard that stereotype before. This idea is completely childish and unneccesary.

Mmm *raises hand*

How is a competition on a site for the magick community going to show the world we don't fit into the stereotypical old hag look?

Aside from a few trolls here and there, everyone who comes to this site already knows that.

There's an easier way, how bout we all pull down our clip art and avatars, and just post a profile pic of ourselves? And also when did practicing Magick become a fashion show? Truth of the matter is that all practitioners look like normal everyday ordinary folk. If people around you can't accept that, then it might be time for new friends not a celebrity contest.

Well said draggy once i again i clap loudly when you speak cause you make much sense as always. However i will like to add my share to this thread, now i do understand that you are fed up of the stigma and the negativity. At least for where i live people know witches are ordinary people but just still have that negative stigma that "we are evil". From what i see magick is nature vice versa this a spiritual medium to which we express our devotion to earth along that same line i don't think any physical appearance show will do anything at all cause its just that...PHYSICAL! many of us have various looks (skin tone, hair texture ,eye colour etc) and we will not be appealing to all who look at us anyway thats a given known. If you really want to show how beautiful we are then we show the purity of our hearts and minds.Be the light on the mountain so that all who look upon you will sought to zealous after you, we must bring back the traditional creative and structural energy in everything we do so that no one will be able to ignore the fact of what we do,thus bring back mother earth to the people on a whole wide scale.

If you ever want to overcome this battle then you have to move away from physicality cause the battle was not there in the first place, we need to touch the hearts and minds of those around us and the time is now, more than ever people's hearts are already opening that i know for sure even though there are few hardened ones not ready yet so to conclude my two cents let us bring back what we stand for: SAPIENTA UT VIVAMUS BENE- Wisdom for good living

This post is pointless...
There are stigmas with everything not just the magickal community. Stigmas have been around for a long time and will continue to be around. That's not going to change. You can't change someone's mind by a picture. And how in the world do you plan on proving to the world other wise? This isn't the 'world' as you so put it.
And you know that the stigma isn't true...why in the world do you have to prove other wise?
Some people are ugly. Some are not. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Just keep that in mind.

Hey now, don't knock the ugly old hags, you just may end up being one, one day. Besides, Crones are granted respect because of their knowledge, not their looks. This is magic not a runway show.

SilverVixen (as always) is right! But many "outsiders" still consider the image of a witch as only a wart-covered hag.
My daughter (then aged six)came home from school with all the Halloween rubbish, and with her drawing of a witch;taken from the images on the classroom wall. I went the next day to this teacher and showed her two photographs and asked her to pick the witch. She immediately picked the one of an old woman; that was my mother. The other was a photo of a young Maxine Sanders; at that time a drop-dead gorgeous 20 year old. Maxine, was ,and still is, one of the most famous witches on the Planet! The teacher was shocked; to put it mildly!
