I'm young. Not a kid,but I'm young. I'm not 12 year old but still I would never go lead a coven even if I'm older-I'm just not experienced enough. I still learn. And even if you know enough to lead a coven, you can still learn a lot,but this is not the topic for it. Basically,I don't get those kids. C'mon. You're 12. Don't lead a coven, just LEARN and PRACTICE. After many years, you can lead a coven. But than, you will be much wiser and that won't be your priority. Being a high priest is an honor. But it doesn't make you the king/queen of the world,so kids should just settle down. You are NOT a priest in the age of 12. Sorry, but even if you learned since your birth day, which is impossible, you could be about a priest NOW. :)) So yeah...Totally right. I'm young, but at least even if I wish for something silly I research is it possible. Don't go claiming it is or isn't.

Wow, age seems to be a controversial subject here.

All I have to say is that I really see no difference between the immature kids and the immature adults here on SoM. If you are willing to learn and share what knowledge you do have, you are fine by my standards. What really ticks me off is when people abuse this by sharing false information, and corrupt all the serious people, young and old, who are willing to learn.

Come on people, if everyone were just to keep their heads on straight, we wouldn't even be having this little argument!

I agree that there are kids who are all over the place out here, chasing fairies, trying to become vampires or wolves, along with a few dillusional ones who are creating fireballs and other stuff. Its frustrating beyond belief! I skip posts that speak of vampires and stuff.

But I also agree with the other point of view, that children need to guided, and the adults need to show their maturity by being patient with them. They are our future after all. And there's nothing more magical than the minds of the young. Shutting them out is not an option.

And as far as entertainment is concerned, well, when I was a kid, I hated school. Why? Because it bored the hell outta me. So if there are kids coming here for some fun, I say let them. We let them learn, in a fun and loving way. Perhaps crack a joke or two with and at them :-)

But as adults, we love arguing, dont we? Why hasn't anyone thought of a solution yet? Complaining and whinning only drains your energy along with everyone elses. What I'm trying to say is, kids are kids, they're meant to be immature, but what's everyone else's excuse?

Here's a suggestion, just off the cuff

Can we put up an "introduction to magic" on the home page. Talking about its different branches like wicca, voodoo, tantra or whatever and also give some sort of explanation about vampires, fairies and all the other stuff that's driving everyone one nuts?

No you dont have to like it or use it. But you're only allowed to burn holes in it, if you have a solution or a suggestion on how to deal with the situation :D

From this post onwards, I hope we have more solutions than complaints.

I find the ones who are roleplaying can affect the confidence of those here to learn, as you can see most of the posts are to do with vampires or half demons.

I don't agree that its just teenagers who are spoiling the forum, I had several 20yr olds contact me about vampire spells, or how they are half demons. Actually a 20yr old demanded I give him the vampire spell or he would cast a demon on me, of course I couldn't bounce the demon back at him because of his invisibility cloak, his words not mine!

I'm 15 years old and only joined this site yesterday. I will say though that this site is an absolute overjoy to me. I want nothing more then to simply have the chance to learn and talk to others. In all honesty I would prefer to talk to some of the older, and more practiced people, then those my own age. I am not hear for entertainment purposes, and will openly admit my knowledge is limited. I am here to learn and grow.

Didn't have the patience to read all of the posts in this thread.
A few of them are huge...

Anyway, I don't see how there's still an argument regarding the original issue here. Right now it seems like we're just picking at semantics.

--

Hello everyone, I am Theta, I am of the age 17 and have been on this site since I was eh__12-ish. I feel that I am mature enough to behave even though I'm still a minor. I feel that I am mature enough to run a coven successfully, even though I'm still a minor. I feel I'm mature enough to realize that I am not always right with a great deal to learn, even though I'm still a minor.

The behavior issues on this site can not be pinned on any age group. Young members tend to be spammers, and still quite ignorant, and older members tend to be arrogant with snippy mouths on them; but those are just the behavior problems of the age groups, there are still many members from each side that can behave like civilized human beings.

Now, you can all reply to this thread picking at every word I said, but what's the point? We've already come to a general agreement on the original issue. Geez.
