I forgot about how children think that everything is real when they are little and put every ounce of strength they have into everything. They have no doubt of anything so their spells are immensely powerful. If only they knew they could actually cast spells, it would be interesting what they could do.

A spell is a ritual wish! Whether it is a spell using your own energy, or what a Christian would call a prayer when lighting a candle. So, if you have ever blown the candles out on a birthday cake, and made a wish, then you have cast a spell. Broken a wishbone? That is a spell. How many children would put a tooth under the pillow and make a wish? Does the wish come true? It does if mama sees it!

Brysing what does anything you said have to do with this thread? I'm beginning to think you just want to see how many people you can irritate.

It is not so much the "power" of magic in the very young, so much as the "belief" in magic! To a child, everything is magical! The small child has a sense of wonderment that many people lose as they get older. If, as we grow older, we can keep that sense of wonderment that we had as a child, then we can be much happier.A child can see magic in a grain of sand. An adult can usually only see the beach!

Thats a very good point there brysing they do indeed have a sense of wonderment. Me and my 5 year old have been known to sing rain rain go away very loudly at times when we;re out and about and we also sing twinkle twinkle every night and though firmly in age being an adult now when i go out at night and see the first star i still wish upon a star
