ok everyone can calm down don't get excited I never said that a Witch can not or should not worship any god they want. And no I have not spoke to the christen god about that. What I am saying is the religion had many rules many more then most and a large one is NO magic of any kind. To a christen a Witch may as well be the Devil himself. I was a christen all my life before I came into the Craft. So don't be made at me it is the way it is. If any Witch walked into a Church and told the Priest They were a Witch The Priest would tell them the same thing. And if they wanted to be Christen they would have to ask for forgiveness and never ever practice magic again.

Considering that Pagans are criticized, ridiculed, ostracized and sometimes publicly humiliated, you would think the community as a whole would be a little more open to other peoples decisions. Regardless whether or not you can wrap your head around them.

I have seen many people in this thread who are no different than those who condemn us to hell for our beliefs.
It's actually very saddening to see a group of people so intolerant of others one minute, and more than likely demanding tolerance for their beliefs the next.

I think Rilke was right when he posted that if Jesus was alive now he would be horrified by "Christianity".The Christian beliefs have more to do with Saul of Tarsus than Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus himself may have been a witch. He had twelve "followers". Thirteen men. Some would call that a coven!

Christian's use magick anyway via pray and general idol worship just most ( not all clearly) of them are just plain and simply to sheepish to open there own eyes and think for them selvs and as a result of this they became close mined and some what foolishly beleave that anything that dosent fit in the tight lil christan box is sinfull and those who disagree with them will burn pretty much...slowly though i find that more christains are starting to open there eyes and except the idea of magick. and that those whom donot beleave in there christain god are not sinfull tanted "devil" worshipers

Heres a remineder for some of Christians who forgot and those who did not know.

There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And because of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you. You shall be blameless before the Lord your God,

—Deuteronomy 18:10-13

Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists undertook to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “I adjure you by the Jesus whom Paul proclaims.” Seven sons of a Jewish high priest named Sceva were doing this. But the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I recognize, but who are you?” And the man in whom was the evil spirit leaped on them, mastered all of them and overpowered them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. And this became known to all the residents of Ephesus, both Jews and Greeks. And fear fell upon them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was extolled. Also many of those who were now believers came, confessing and divulging their practices. And a number of those who had practiced magic arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted the value of them and found it came to fifty thousand pieces of silver.

—Acts 19:13-19

Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

—Galatians 5:19-21

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

—Acts 1:8

Not my words, just to clear some speculations with facts.

I'd hardly call the bible fact. It was written centuries after Jesus died, have books missing from them that were not considered acceptable for the times (book of Mary Magdalen for example, no man would allow a book written by a woman in the "Holy Book" when women were considered practically non-human at the time), and are more political than anything else.

rilke, I'm a bit taken back by your comments. You're profile (and other posts) suggest you have fought a long hard battle for the magick community for certain rights and recognitions. Yet here you sit condemning people who not only are Christians, but accept and recognize the magick community as valid and ok.

Perhaps you would prefer them to be closed minded and condemn us...so long as they stay on "that" side of the fence.

I find it ridiculous. The magick/occult community as a whole wants to be accepted, yet so many are unwilling to accept others.

Thank You for your opinion. I don't have anything against Christians, Christ, most of my friends are christian, and... this has nothing against anyone, there is no discrimination here, anyone can do magic, and they have.... regardless of religion.I have seen in many cultures a mixture of Spiritual paths from Voodoo and Catholics, to the Basque Witches and anything else that works. Yes, they mix, yes they may even work together, BUT..... They are seperate, they are each in their own belief system. Witch and Christian if taken to the core, are fundamentaly different, like most religions, there are some similarities, but at the core they are very different. One can debate this subject forever, but.... in my opinion, the Spirit of Witchcraft is on a rise, it has a lot of juice, ( and this speaking from an Ex-altar boy )I feel Christianities energy is fading.( Hey, it's not my fault) I think these two religions are very different at this time. Blessings on the differences.
