Alcohol is a neural depressant with few other useful properties, so not especially useful for inducing astral projection. It might help you to relax in small quantities, but unless you're going at it from an inhibitory gnosis angle, I'd agree with SilverVixen and recommend only a small ammount.

I'd recommend regular meditation, chakra cleansing and study on the subject.
