When your chakras are in perfect condition or somewhat there, a period of time will come when the kundalini her self will raise on her own. Unless you have a strong balanced root chakra i don't advise you try to raise her on your own. it took me about 3,4 years to raise mine. and control is a different story.

I would simply like to add that this is Not a path a person should attempt if they're looking for "power" or simple energy gains. This path is ment to place your spirit into a state of evolutionary flux, so that you can become closer to the divinity of the Universe and ultimatly more enlightened.

Its a path for spiritual and self betterment, and should only be attempted if you feel you have grown spiritually and are ready for higher steps. Its not an easy path.

ahh very well put and constituted!

I also learned that you need to understand Kundalini energy and how it benefits your body. This awareness is important since helps you carry out the meditation effectively.
You'll need to get ready to allow the Kundalini energy to complete its course in your body. Why? During Kundalini meditation, there will be an abrupt burst of a healing and spiritual energy - and you need to receive it with complete preparation

Please do NOT do the meditation suggested. While it has the right idea, never start from the top working down. You always want to start from the root chakra and work your way up. The energy should always be pushing up, never down. That is one way to create negative effects from an awakened kundalini. You may want to look into kundalini yoga in your area also. It is a little different from other hatha yogas in that it strengthens the glandular system. (Each chakra relates to specific glands in your body, usually around the location of the chakra.) I have been doing kundalini yoga off and on for ten years now, and my kundalini just awakened a month ago. It brought me immense peace and calm, but I have to continue my yoga practice consistently to maintain it.

I agree that when starting to open your chakras you need to work from your root up to your crown however once open you also need to be able to allow the energy to flow not only up but down. Having energy flowing in both directions enables the energy to flow more freely and enables you to push negative energy out of the bottoms or your feet as you pull positive energy in through your head. The reason you need to start with the root as you open your chakras is so that you remain grounded as you open up to the universe. Starting with your crown can cause pain and make it harder for you to concentrate on what you are doing.

You seriously have nothing to worry about because it doesnt just happen to raise your kundalini the first time you try it, there are yogys doing it for 10 years or a lifetime to finally do it succesfully. And if it would happen from the first try there is nothing to be affraid of, you should experience a huge improvement in your phisical and spiritual health.
