You're not very good at reading a full post, huh?

First statement: "An immortal would not grow old, not feel pain, and not get hurt.

However, could an immortal still live in outer space with no air, no water, and no food? If not, then when this Earth finally comes to an end so too will the immortal thus ending his/her life and making death a part of it. If the immortal can live in space without any mortal needs, could the immortal live in a star? If not, then the immortal's life would end when his/her body was taken in by the sun or any other star thus making death a part of his/her life."

That is under the assumption that immortals do not feel pain since if they could they would most likely die in whatever cataclysmic event ends the earth's existence. The pressure from space and lack of heat could freeze or crush the immortal regardless of whether or not he/she feels it and if that doesn't work the heat of a star would burn him/her to nothing. If neither of those end the immortal I would still feel sorry for him/her since loneliness, in every story of immortality, is a very real and ever present pain for those with nobody for company.

I did not mention anything about pain until my second statement which was to say that if they could feel pain their lives would/could end much sooner then the first statement would suggest.

I forgot to clarify; this isn't an argument yet, it's a debate. If either of us were saying "I'm right and you're wrong and that's just the way it is" then it would be/become an argument. So long as we're both maturely putting our beliefs out for observation, backing up those beliefs with other beliefs/possibilities/facts, and maturely taking in the "opponent's" beliefs, it is a debate. Once we start calling people wrong, immaturely claiming that all I/you say is fact, or simply not bothering to let the other person involved make his beliefs known, that is when it becomes an argument.

Simply put: arguments are generally managed immaturely and often lead to nothing while debates are handled maturely and have the potential of giving insight to new beliefs, ideas, and opinions.

OK, I've seen this several times before. Someone asks a specific question and the people that reply to the post get off on subject. Why are you people acting so immature. I feel old because I'm very sure that the people arguing off subject are at least a bit older that 16. If not, then I apologize. Even so, you should not argue in a thread that is meant for answering questions. If I have missed or over looked something, then please, by all means point it out to me. But please stop arguing about things that are quite arbitrary to the question. Sorry, and Peace be with you.

Lets move immortality debate away from the discussion of what is death like?

As has been said, that was not an argument. Nor do I see it as immature. One person made a comment, another person made a comment on that comment, and both people backed up their beliefs.

Zeke; if everyone stuck to the main topic and only the main topic which was mentioned by the original post then most threads would be short lived. Often times a topic will lead to another topic, this is called a conversation. It's something that generally happens in forums and other public socialization places.

Reborn; I think it's already done.

I apologize. I am the one acting immature, and very immature at that. I probably read only parts of the posts and made of them what I thought was going on, once again I apologize, I have acted like a child, none of you are immature, or childish. I feel kind of stupid now! When I look back, I can see that what all of you are talking about is on topic, of quite closely related to the topic. It was nothing for me to get upset about, can you all forgive be for acting dishonorable? Once again, I apologize for my immature words, Peace be with you.

I was reading my previous post, and I noticed a few spelling mistakes. first: I said " of closely related to the topic" I meant "or" not "of". Second: I said "forgive be for my immature words" (or something of the sort) I meant "me" instead of "be". Once again, I beg your forgiveness for acting immature, and childish. Peace be with you. Also, I notice that I contradict myself when I try to get people to quit arguing on a thread, and quite a bit of the time, its a non-existent argument. When I try to get people to stop arguing, I get into the argument by telling them to stop. This is not my job, nor should I try and make it my job. It is the job of the makers of this site. I could go on and on saying how foolish I have acted, but the bottom line is: I'm sorry, can you all forgive me? Peace be with you.
