Depends on what wood you use, it sounds as if this wand means or represents something to you in some way. This is an important element when doing magical workings with a wand, because it is of a natural source it possess the same power/divine energy that you use in magic. That's why most wands are made from wood, so it very much depends now on what your intentions with spell work are.

Can I break a larger piece of stick? Because I have a really long stick (its probably taller than me) so can I just chop it to my desired length?
Also, what decoration should I put if my element is earth? Can I paste printed pictures on it?
Please mail me if you have any idea about this ....
(I know my questions are silly, but I'm just a beginner)
Sorry

Quartz has its own magical properties, putting it on a wand is a good idea. Blessing the wand or putting magic in it is also important as far as I know.

Hello, my name is Zel and I have two sticks(I don't know if I should call them wands, but they seem to resonate with me. The first Stick i wanted to make It into a wand but i only Scraped it and made it look nice and Wrapped it in white ribbon (Named it Cyphie) and the other one i was randomly drawing runes with it on the ground and i guess it kinda just stick with me so I took it home and made it look nice and wrapped it in gold ribbon (I Named it Elix) And i use it to inscribe things on the ground......I believe they can do magic and channel my energy but at the same time I'm doubtful, what should I do?

Should I varnish my wand?

I have been working on making a wand for myself.

I picked a fallen branch from a tree on my way to college and wrapped fruit rinds around it and let them dry.

I was wondering is it would be correct to varnish it to secure the rinds or if it would be a bad idea because varnish isn't "natural"? I have heard one should only use materials that exist in nature to make a wand.

I don't have much experience in this matter, but personally, I think it doesn't matter. My wand is painted, and it works just fine. Personal preference though. Do you feel like it will block your energy?

I don't really think it should make a difference.

It's honestly more a measure to protect the fruit rinds and prevent them from falling of.

Pottermore? They changed it so you can't play things, or be chosen for a house or a wand. It sucks now.
