Is there anyway to figure out if there were witches in your family based on a surname or clan name?

it would behard to find records because the christians burnt mostthe witches:(

there is really no way you can tell. back then all the records are burned, lost, damaged, or stole. you'll be lucky to find any sort of them. plus if someone was clam that they where a witch, they might have had a idea to burn it to save their family name. that could be anyone in the family not the one that was the witch per say. also there is a 50 50 chance that there not even tho it says they are one. all you can do is ask for yourself and your family members if they know anyone that was a witch or done magick.

I agree medtate another idea is maybe try asking to remember your dreams and ask for a dream that will tell you what you would like to know.
