Just to throw the words of yet another Priest into this thread:
I encourage most of my members to seek help elsewhere as well. On this topic my purpose for doing so may be irrelevant, but since different people have different beliefs and follow different methods I believe it is vital for anyone attempting to learn that they listen to the words of various teachers rather then learn the ways of just one. Learning the ways of just one means you only learn one way, one method, or one set of ways and methods, rather then many of the vast variety out there. The fact that someone asks you for help in knowledge shows that he/she should respect you because he/she sees you as knowledgeable, the fact that you would limit the knowledge of your student by not allowing others to help shows disrespect from the teacher to the student.
Just my opinion.

That's a good point. While I may not be coven leader to have any legit say in it. But its sorta like teaching a blind man how to read without brail or sound. Sometimes more than one tech is needed.

You do not insult your
Math or English teacher at school
by looking up and practicing tactics, methods, etc, online.
Rather you make them proud
by showing that you want to learn.
Likewise you do not insult them by
asking family and friends for help,
again you show that you care
and this makes them proud as well.
Most school teachers will even tell you that you should.

Jely, levitation using magic is not possible.

If you are wanting to learn the basics, however, I would suggest reading the pinned threads in the General Info section of this forum, and also regard Lark's book suggestions.

Modern Magic by Donald Michael Craig is an excellent resource for beginning ritual magic -- even if you do go another route.
