Considering there are so many different religion oriented Covens around, i decided to start a post containing different views and meanings of them. I'll be adding some here and there so don't think i've forgotten any of the main ones but feel free to add any that i may have left things out, not yet posted, or info that may hve been left out These are a few that i am most familiar with: 1.) The MOST complicated, and branched out religion known to man: Christianity. Of course! everyone is somewhat familiar with this since most of us have had it pushed on us from the word ''Go'' by at least one person. I'm sure many of you know that christianity branches out into many different categories like, Agnostic, Orthodox, Peitist, Pentecostal, Holiness, Methodist, and the ever famous Baptist, Anglican, and Catholics just to name a few. All of these churches and different braches of chritstianity have basically different views of the same picture, and different ways of conducting such rituals as praying and things of that nature. ''The idea that the service to God should have only to do with a church altar, singing, reading, sacrifice, and the like is without doubt but the worst trick of the devil.'' ''How could the devil have led us more effectively astray than by the narrow conception that service to God takes place only in a church and by the works done therein...The whole world could abound with the services to the Lord, Gottesdienste - not only in churches but also in the home, kitchen, workshop, field.'' -Martin Luther Christianity is basically the belief of a one and only god who created everything that is and has ever been; that only through salvation through him shall you redeem your soul and live forever in heaven 2.) Satanism: This is the religion we are taught to hate, fear, and look down upon. Most people get the genaral image that people who are Satanists basically just worship the Devil, experiment with dark magick and listen to hard-core rock music. Lol This, of course, isn't the case. These are some words straight from someone who does practice Satanism and has studied it a bit closer: ''Satanism is not about worshipping the devil, the devil does not exist. Satanism is about worshipping yourself, beacuse you are resopnsible for your own good and evil.'' ''Chrisitanity's war against the devil has always been a fight against man's most natural instincts and a denial of man's membership in the animal kingdom.'' ''The idea of heaven is just christianity's way of creating a hell on earth. Man has always created his gods, buthat's just me.'' -MR 3.) Roman and Greek gods and goddesses Of course with lots of things in the world unexplained you'll need some sort of explanation. Well, with Greek and Roman Gods and Goddesses there are explanations for just about everything. Expl* Hera-Goddess of childbirth Hephaestus- God of fire Athena- Goddess of war All of the immortal gods right down to the earthly mortal ones all started with Zeus. Well, not just Zeus exactly. There's a really long story about his mother Rhea, how he overthrew his father Cronus, but we won't get in to that right now. The most famous of gods and goddesses like, Hermes, Athena, Hephaestus, Poseidon, Persephone, Aphrodite, and many others are children of Zeus. Many of his children serve different purposes, and have many different meanings and symbols. The belief of Greek/Roman Mythology is a very colorful one that i, myself, find incredibly intriguing Religion is something that has been somewhat of a crutch for some. A shoulder to cry on. For some, an excuse, but remember this if ever you start to criticize someone elses Beliefs: Of all things in this world to start conflicts and war, it is indeed religion that tops them all.

I'm gonna add on with a little bit about the Dark Magick main gods and goddesses Night God/dess Greek: Nyx- Mother of Hypnos, the furies, and other gods. Nyx embodies nocturnal energy and all of its forms. She emerged from Chaos(Greek Titan). Almost every time you call upon the power of the Goddess of night, you are referring to Nyx. She will help with all night magick. Hypnos: Meaning sleep, Hypnos rules just that: sleep, dreams, and the subconscious realms. He helps when trying to initiate certain dreams. He is also good when it comes to needing answers for certain dreams, If you are lucky, he'll join you in a few dreams and take you on adventures. Egyptian: Nephthys- She aids in all basic night and dark magick, (one of my more respected goddesses) She is the mother of Anubis. She is pure night and dark, including the moon, the Underworld. Along with her son, Anubis, she offers great protection.

Dark Moon God/dess (banishings, positive destructive magick, such as aggressive healing) Greek: Hecate- One of the oldest goddesses in Greek history, she is considered the Goddess of the Withces. She aids in all magickal aspects. Any high magick should seek her assistance, she is apart of a triad, including Selene and Diana. Celtic: Morrigan- Symbolized by the raven and crow. She is mature and vibrant. Known for destroying harmful effects on opposing armies. She is the ultimate aid in Banishing. Egyptian: Pasht- The dark form of Bast is associated with destructive magick. Pasht brings power from the feline family towards dark moon rite and passage. She will aid in any time of the dark moon, new moon.

Full Moon (fertility, luring thigns into your life, and for energizing rites) Greek: Selene- Part of the triad with Hecated, She is often used to complete an increasing or drawing rite. Sumerian: Nanna- Father of Inanna, he is the Lord of Wisdom. A lunar diety representing a more masculine lunar rite. The moon often is refered as a feminine aspect, but there is always a balance, Nanna offers that balance. Nanna works well with his wife, Ningal. Ningal- Inanna's mother, Ningal is far from being widely known. She can be used with Nanna and her daughter in any of the basic Full Moon rites.

Protection (for the obvious and also, keeping karma in check with those that deal with you) Greek: The Furies- A tirad of goddesses born from Nyx. They are the angry ones. Alecto protects against unseen enemies, Megaera help when you are aware of danger form a person, and Tisiphone... Tisiphone can help you ensure you that anyone that choses to afflict you is fully aware of what Karma brings to them... AKA She doesn't believe in second chances and will bring out justice with the powers and balance of the universe. Note: You do not control the consequence for that pereson. Egyptian: Anubis- Alright, I know that I will be including Anubis in a later section, but I feel that he is by far a great protector. I mean think about it, he protects all of the Underworld, he has to be good at it. Anubis, in my opinion, is one of the most protective spiritual teachers. He will make sure that no one interferes with your studies in magick. He containst the form of a jackal, which is related to one of the most protective animals, dogs. I find Anubis to be a huge help. Indian: Kali- She looks like a nightmarish being, fangs, four arms, necklace made of skulls, and smeared blood (my kind of girl :P) But don't let that scare you, she uses that image to protect. She uses, obviously, fear and intimidation to protect. Only call on her in severe matters.

Descent and Rebirth (for facing your shadow self, or as I often call it, the other you. Approaching the unseen world and obtaining wisdom) Greek: Persephone- Dragged into the Underworld by Hades and tricked to be his wife for the winter season. She can help you see what you naturally have a hard time seeing. Call on her when you are reaching a new part of life and need help with controlling it. Sumerian: Inanna- She entered the Underworld, and was reborn with more strength than ever before. She can help you conquer most challenges. She has many energies and is multifaceted. Try and discover how she can help you personally. Egyptian: Khepera- A beetle-headed god representing rebirth into a new existance (note: House Kheperu). Call on his night form when you need to let apart of yourself die so that a new part may be reborn. Wear a scarab charm to remind yourself of the rebirth.

Underworld/Death (Understanding the afterlife and communication with the dead) Greek: Hades- He watches over the Underworld, ensuring Karma places spirits wher they belong. Invoke him to understand the afterlife. Thantos- Which is believed to be a different part of Hades, and in some cases seperate from him, claims the same responsibilities, however he aids with moving on and getting past death of family members. Sumerian: Ereshkigal- She is a reminder that death is not evil. She did not choose her role in death, she was handed it and accepted it gaining knowledge on how everything must come to an end to begin. Egyptian: Anubis- He can help anyone understand the Underworld, he holds eternal wisdom in his eyes and can see into eternity within the eye of his ankh. He will aid in any journeys to meet the dead. If you need any help with the dead, always refer to Anubis or Hades, in my opinion.

I forgot one more The Fates: Clothos- Creator of our life thread, helping us pick the kind of life we need to enter. Lachesis- Determines the length of the thread, the challenges, and the experiences to come in our life. Atropos- Cuts the life thread to return our souls to the afterlife.
