Hmm...

Thanksgiving is another excuse for americans to overeat.

Thanksgiving is a holiday meaning to celebrate the time the pilgrims arrived in america. Or something like that.

lol Rowan, for those who celebrate Christmas, the dinner can vary. No set rules.
My family has had turkey, ham, kielbasa) steak, one year my crazy aunt made lasagna

The celebration of Thanksgiving is basically when you get together with loved ones and be thankful for what you have by sharing it ie. obnoxiously large feast. Americans recognize it as the time when the pilgrams shared a meal with the indians who helped them get through a rough winter here, by basically showing them how to live in what was then the wilderness. This of course was prior to the settlers raping the indians in every possible way imaginable lol

Thanks for that as it sheds some light on Thanksgiving. A very meaningful celebration. I didn't know about the pilgrims and the Indians so you have taught me something.

This is what I really love about this site - everybody helps everybody.

Hugs

Actually Wasted, Joey's fairly accurate.
I am not sure what the first set of settlers did, I do know that's pretty much what everyone after did.

If you think that's inaccurate, I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say you go to a parochial school.

I went to one when I was much younger as well. I'm not sure if things have changed, but I will say this: when they thought me, they made slavery and the relationship with indians look like a fairy tale and a wonderful thing.

It was one heck of a shock when I got to public school lol
