well, i have to say this, one, in all the philosophies i have studied and read, demons are not actually higher beings, but lower beings who seem higher only because the are ancient. and in my studies i have read that demons posses no free will, only wish to posses it. also, sealing demons is possible, from what i have read
Well, I count demons as higher beings, not because they are old or ancient, but because if angels are counted as higher beings, then demons should be too, not as counterparts, but merely because in my mind they are different, yet the same. Both have negative and positive aspects, and both can kick your bum to kingdom come if they so wish.
The only difference between the two that I know of is that demons have more darkness than light in them, and vice versa for angels. This is not the common idea of light and darkness, rather, the idea of solidity (darkness) and non-solidity (light). Demons need to be solid because they help to remove karma in hell, whereas angels do not need to be solid to inspire, rather, mere words can do that. Lol.
That being said, does anyone consider it easy to seal an angel?
Also, on their having no free will, I severely doubt that...all sentient beings have free will as far as I know of, and all of them can think and choose their actions for themselves. This makes me doubt that a demon (which I think most people concur would be a thinking entity in some fashion) wouldn't have it, but rather want it.
Oh, and most of my knowledge comes from a few books, some forum posts, and mostly people who've had experience with them who I am 100% sure are not screwing with me for giggles. Books, like the internet, are not always the best sources. So I stick with the people I know know their stuffs. And when I am ready to, I would like to meet a demon for myself and see if they are right or wrong. But that will probably be a while from now.
from my readings, demons and angels are both considered lower beings, all created from God for the reason of serving earth. now, demons came to be because a legion of angles chose to follow one against god, and thus, the birth of demons. It is because we feel that demons and angels are superior that we give them more power then they truly have, by self weakening our will power over them.
Also, they both do not posses free will, each following one leader, and for a reason. Now as for solid and non solid, i agree, as in history and in written text, angels have had little use for actually physically effecting the world, while demons seem more bound to this world and their ability to have physical traits amongst us.
Last, a demon is not as powerful as you may think, but instead a fallen "sentient" that is only given power by what we believe they are.
That's pretty much a story you have there. To be honest, demons and angels are just like us.They have their own will. They follow a leader perhaps so but really doesn't tell much about their life does it?
You can't just assume a demon just by how he/she follows and written by many men who claims to be demon hunters. You don't even know how far demons can go.The same goes for angels. You can't just take logical guesses from books and people's opinion.
My definition would be who are you to know who claim who they really are?
A Demon (like an angel) is a pure spirit, and as such it'd be simply impossible to imprison such a being with any sort of object. With enouph energy its possible, but no one human, or even a large group would be able to do that, not without killing themselves
