Well, you could make it like an anchor, connecting it to the permanent source of energy. I do it myself by connecting sigil to the anchor, which is channel of energy whose source is for example center of the earth or akasha or sun, but with sun well, you can guess, your sigil is recharged while there is a sunlight. You could also make an vampiric anchor. If you make vampiric anchor, maybe you can create one that works on principle of ambient feeding, that would be best variation and safest version of vampiric anchor, but it takes more time to recharge the sigil.
Also, do tell me how do you recharge your sigils? Tell me the process of it.
Be creative, and work safely.
thank you for answer! It's very helpful and I can't wait to give it a try.
My way to charge is to cover the sigil by hand and imagine my energy flowing into it. Second way is to look at the sigil, concentrate until you can no more concentrate.
I'm new to magick so I ve choose the simplest way to charge. I ve bought books but haven't read it yet.
Hello, I think that I could help with this.
Sigilscan't be truly permanent. The best way to do a sigil that would be close to it would be using water to draw a sigil in an area that gets constant lighting from the sun and the moon. The most common way that I see this is in full-sun gardens, rooftops, etc.
But for this situation, you can use ways to recharge sigils that don't require your own energies. The sun and moon are the most common examples, but you can find a lot of ways to recharge a sigil. You can also recharge by overlapping the same sigil(similar to the "three times three" rule) over and over again.
My personal favorite is to use a spoon, food coloring(for pizzazz), heavy cream, or any kind of edible liquidto draw a personal protection sigil into my morning coffee/tea on a regular basis. It doesn't take much, but it can protect you as you drink the beverage.

Though it is not for everyone, I personally use blood to charge my sigils. It connects my energy to the sigil and helps align my intent to the sigil's purpose. I have found this to be very useful for personal protection sigils. I use the blood to trace the the sigil. I have a specific quill that I use for this, as it keeps the blood from bleeding (no pun intended) over the edges of the paper and into the sigil.Blood is a very powerful tool in magical practice, as it is viewed as a source of power and life force. So by using my blood on personal sigils, it helps power their energy.
If blood is not an option for you, be it because of personal preference or clotting conditions that could cause health issues, crystals are another good option. From a magical and technological standpoint, I'd say your best bet at a 'magical battery' would be via the use of clear quartz crystal. In magic,it is a common belief that crystals and gems vibrate with their own, natural energies. They are believed to be able to store it, channel it, and balance it. So, in that regard, you could charge a crystal quartz as a booster for spells and other magical works, including your sigils.
There is some scientific backing to the idea of quartz batteries as well. Quartz is a piezoelectric mineral, meaning it can transform energy. Mechanical pressure applied to the crystal will cause a noticeable amount of electricity to be released.Whereas, if you apply voltage to a quartz crystal it can transfer electrical energy into mechanical forces, which are shown in a slight change in the shape of the crystal. Because of these properties, its been used in old microphones, radios, early phonograph needles, and similar technology used in cigarette lighters and gas ignition buttons on grills.
It's like a tuning fork vibrating when you strike it, as one example explains it. The vibration will eventually die away, but if you take the power the crystal generates and amplify that and feed it back to the crystal, you can keep the vibration and energy going.
There are some good articles on the topic that I've added below. I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for but it might be at least somewhat useful to you.
My favorite long-term 'powersource' is the use of crystals. Misanthropy gave some very good details about why they are useful already so I'll try to not be repetitive.
Quartz-based crystals are really compatible with a lot of workings. They are largely programmable, can be moved around however you want, look pretty, are pretty durable (I have been clumbsy), and are mostly readily accessible. Also they can hide magic in plain sight as lay-people tend to see them as just decorations or at most like a hippy-esque 'good vives' tool.
Best of all, they soak up sunlight like nobody's business. Sit a quartz on a mirrored coaster in the sun and it will be consistently charged and cleared. Typically clusters with multiple points, or certain stones like blue kyanite (or other 'power stones') are recommended as they are self-maintaining and can also clear/cleanse other crystals you place with them. But with the daily boosting of a direct sunbeam and the added benefit of nightly moon baths, just by a strategic placement, even regular single-terminarion quartz points can become like little spiritual solar panels.
If you want to work with sigils and crystals I would suggest making your sigil into a coaster and then setting a crystal on top at the middle. Quartz (Energy, memory, intent), Amethyst (Peace, healing), or citrine (abundance, attracting energy/goals) would all be good choices. And among the easier-to-get/cheaper options.
A sigil can be regularly charged via a source other than yourself.
Tethering a sigil to an outside source of energy such as moon phase, sun rise or set and other possible sources can help to continuously charge a sigil.
Quartz or other stones are also a probability as mentioned.
So technically yes a sigil can be made to serve longer term.
Now this does take into consideration the material used to create the sigil.
Eventually, paper will naturally biodegrade.
A longer term option is creating a painting containing your sigil and setting it within a frame behind glass. Flatter, stretched canvases are great for this use.
Painting a sigil on a surface less likely to degrade is an option, yet honestly do you feel you really need the spell or properties related to the sigil to extend beyond one's natural life?
