I'm back yayyy!! In truth I've been here off and on over the last five years but I figured its about time I updated this. Instead of deleting my old post I've decided to leave it there and update periodically so I can look back and see how I've grown.
Over the past five years I've been studying by myself and getting a feel for what I like and don't like and what feels right for me. I mainly work with elemental magic and energy work. Most of my rituals are centered around candle work and the use of other elemental energy. Over the last year or so Ive been really into Astrology and I've been incorporating that into my spell work. For instance I thought before that my affinity element was fire because my sun sign is Leo, which is a big reason that I begin using candle magic. But after looking at my chart I found out that I have an overwhelming abundance of Air In my chart. To much almost. Right now I'm still in the process of learning how to use this to my advantage in my practice.
I'm not sure what category my magick would fit in. At the moment I'm just doing whatever feels right and makes sense.
Hi I'm shekinah I'm 18 years old and am from New Jersey
I'm what you would refer to as a noob(?) to magick
I just started this year not to long ago
I come from a strictly Cristian family
I grew up studying the bible but I've never felt the pull or naturalness I feel when studying or doing magic
I've felt this way for a while. I've always felt a connection to nature especially to trees, but was reluctant to get into it because of my family
but now that I've started studying and have personally felt just how real magick is I don't think I'll ever be able to just go back to plain Christianity.
that's not to say I'll be telling my family anytime soon, I'll defiantly tell my friends but never my family
they would really overreact and think I'm possessed or something
their all very stubborn in their beliefs and I already know that they think witchcraft and especially paganism is the devil
but I'm not going to let this stop me I'm here to learn and to make this into my lifestyle
I'm open to criticism(I'd rather be corrected then go on being wrong)
any guidance would be nice (people here don't seem to be very welcoming to beginners)
I wanted to join a coven but none of them seemed to be very open to teaching
Oh well, if they could get where they are I'm sure I can too
although help would be welcome and much appreciated
