Some houses really do have fairies living in them or in their gardens. Think to yourself of the times you or your family members have lost things in the home. You have placed them down in a certain place, two minutes later they have vanished. It happens all the time all over the world and it could be that the fairy folk are playing tricks. Sometimes people report finding little presents from the fairies. Money or food perhaps just appears from thin air. Often this happens just when you need it most. This could be the house fairies looking after you and your family. So how can you see them?
All fairy folk like fresh food. It is thought polite to leave out a dish of milk with a light meal for them. Place this fairy offering in an area where there is natural light, a window sill is ideal, or beneath a garden tree. You must tell the house fairies that this is especially for them. As I said above, do not do this unless you believe in the fairy folk. Say these few words as you place out your fairy food.
"This is my special gift to you
The fairies of my house
I wish you happiness and joy
And give this with my love."
Now you must nod your head three times at this gift and believe in your heart that the fairy folk will take it. They are watching you do this and if you sincerely respect them then they will respect you. Treat them badly, or laugh at them and oh dear me you will be in trouble. House fairies are very sensitive to atmosphere so make yours a happy home. Sing and play beautiful music, they love that. Then, if you continue to offer them a daily treat, they may appear. Even if they don't they are sure to be delighted with your kindness and will help you and your family in lots of little ways.
Finding a fairy glen in springtime or summer is quite easy. Just go into the county or a park and look for the place where the wild flowers grow. Fairies love flowers and they care for them the way a gardener looks after their garden. An ideal fairy glen will be lightly wooded with some shelter from the sun. A narrow valley with a tinkling silver stream is the very best place to seek the fairy folk. But look more with your heart than with your eyes.
Feel the atmosphere as you walk among the meadows, hear the sounds of nature singing to you. It is a soft, soft song of love. You will know the fairies are around when you feel that the fields, the birds, the trees and the flowers are all as one. Then you may see them. Dancing circles in the sunlit pastures as the buttercups bend in the gentle summer breeze.
Sit quietly as you search the grassy slopes and flowered fields for fairies. Be at peace with yourself and think joyful thoughts. Fairies like happy people and you are such a person. So tell them so. Here is a little verse that I know all fairies will like.
Say this out loud with hope and love in your heart.
"Sweet fairy folk of fairy glen It is joy I wish for you Please dear fairies believe in me I'm good and honest and true."
But never say that if it isn't the truth. I have told you that fairy folk do not like liars. But if it is true then try it. You may not actually see a fairy but they will know about you and your happy thoughts. Just watch and see how many good things start to happen once you have introduced yourself the fairy folk.

TREE FAIRIES
Some say that fairy folk live inside trees. But not every tree is suitable for fairies, they have their favourites. Look in woods or parks for a tree that is weirdly shaped. Old twisted oaks or knobbly hawthorns are ideal fairy trees. Find one that is crooked with strangely curled branches. Often these stand alone in some mysterious corner of a dark and lonely wood. If there is a stream nearby, all the better. You may see a gnome like face on the gnarled trunk. Or a claw like branch hanging down as if about to snatch you. This will be the fairy tree.
Having found the fairy tree you must now stand quietly and think of the joy that the tree has brought to this world of ours. Look up at its wonderful branches, admire their shape. These are like no other branches on Earth, this is a very special tree. Hold love for this tree in your heart and talk gently to it. Tell this fairy tree that you are a friend. Accept that this tree is a gift from God to the world. Be as one with the tree. Be at peace.
On your first visit to the fairy tree just stay a short while and before you leave say these few words of poetry. Speak them aloud talking directly to the tree and the fairy folk will hear them.

Say this with meaning. If you don't mean it then do not say it. Fairy folk hate liars, so always tell them the truth. If you don't believe in fairies, then forget it. One thing is for sure, they won't believe in you. However, even if you really do believe, sometimes the fairy folk just will not let you see them. Don't be too disappointed if this happens. Just keep talking to them with love and hope in your heart. They'll be listening, honest!
