When a Heathen/Vanic practitioner goes hunting, he or she calls upon Skadi, the former wife of Njord, and a goddess of hunting, winter, and death(among other things). As you take up your gear, say this prayer:

Hail Frost-Born Lady, Bright Arrow,

Tracker of deer and elk,

Blood on the snow, keen of eye,

Huntress whom none can elude!

Grant me keen eyes and ears,

Grant me straight shot and steady hand,

And most of all, Lady, grant me luck

That brings the prey straight to my sight.
