This particular witch tool hasn't fully been discussed of its deeper meaning and true intentions of how it's used. Of course, the sickle has been used for a harvesting tool to cut crops and herbs, but the sickle has other magical meaning and its connections with Saturn. Remember, you can use any curved blade to use as the sickle doesn't have to be perfect.

The symbolism of the sickle represents Violence, Discord, and Chaos, unlike its counterpart, the dagger or athame. Peace, harmony, and order. With a perfect set of tools, the sickle on the left and the athame right on the altar, putting the sickle upside down and athame parallel towards the sickle, you'll have the symbolism of saturn.
Another symbolism of sickle is connected with the first murderer Cain, representation to all murderers and enfolding mystery within itself of the end of all things.

The elements aligned with the sickle are earth and entropy. It's the kind of entropy focused through the blade that causes the dissolution of energetic forms, which makes energy or thoughtforms ultimately decay to the point where it can no longer hold its own existence. Being of the earth element, the sickle can be used to ground or nullify any magick effects one may have.

With caution, the sickle should be used and handled with great respect and care for its only purposes in rituals to slay, destroy, and recycle. The sickle shouldn't be known as the tool for violence but capable of harnessing, attracting, and utilizing the energy that leads to destruction and death.
