~ This involves my best friend ~

*I'm just going to give a little background on her. I'm not sure if it will help, but it might.*
My best friend was not born in a spiritual family, she was not really born in a religious family at all. If I asked her what does she believe in. She would mostly like say that she doesn't know. She recently decided she is not afraid of death. If that helps any. Also she is currently dealing with a major issue with her sister.

*Alright, so this is what we need help with*

My best friend has finally open up to me about this. She told me that she has been seeing figures/shadows. At first she thought it was the light, but she she said she just recently started seeing them in the dark as well. She says that she has been seeing them when she is at work. From the corner of her eyes. She described them to be tall. She thinks there are more than one.
I asked her if she feels safe or if she feels threaten. She says she does not feel threaten by them. She is just freaked out because she does not know what they are or if she has to do anything. She said it has been happening a lot lately.

I believe that whatever she is seeing is real. I do not believe she is making this up. I just don't know what to tell her. Could it be spirits? Or something else?

What do you guys think? Can you guys help?
