Question about covens
By:

Is there a way for a moderator/admin to delete covens? I think that would clear a large amount of inactive covens and possibly let a few new covens to be created, especially for various demographics that are underrepresented on SoM(such as young adults over 18, people that want a LGBTQ+ safe space/coven, etc.), through possibly applying via a Google Form(and having a set of standards you might need to meet in order to start a coven)! Please note that this is a suggestion, though! I don't expect this to be added/done any time soon, as with a lot of people here on SoM.

Blessed be,

Lucidity_

As far as I know only Petrarca has the ability to close or "retire" covens like the former coven Natural Magick. It would be nice to see some of them cleaned up or given new leadership. I applied to lead one so long ago I forgot which one. He's a busy person but I do hope these inactive covens can be sorted with in some way, some day.

In all honesty, there isn't as much activity and traffic on the site as there was back when the covens were first implemented. Making new ones would be moot, especially when 95% of the ones currently on the site are dead. It would be better to remove or retire those covens and keep the larger, more active ones until such a time that activity is back up.

I wholeheartedly agree with your take on this. For me, Petarca should set up a "deletions request" kind of thing, mainly via a Google Form, so it can be split into different parts. In my opinion, that'd be a good place to start.

You could always send him a mail about it or possibly start some type of petition here on the site, I suppose. I don't know how often he checks his mail or the forums these days though.
