Personally I like that they suggest lemon aromatics when writing down what it is you need to know but this really can be done without reciting the verses they suggest after you are done writing down what it is you need to know.

I have a learning disability and certain things have helped to easemy issues. I am a huge fan of essential oils and herbs. Rosemary, eyebright, and peppermint are a few that can aid you with memory, alertness, and focus. Lemon and other citruses can also help perk up the mind in a relaxing or calming way that makes learning and retention easier. There are also stones or crystals that can aid in the learning process; Tiger's Eye, Malachite, Green Aventurine, Amethyst (a type of quartz), Citrine (also a type of quartz), and clear Quartz are just a few. Getting plenty of rest will also help the mind as it processes new information and moves short term memories into long term memories.

It looks like Neko left some good information for you in the spell comments recently, That might help.

Learning and memory are intrinsically linked, and having a bit of an understanding of the things that affect memory really helps a person develop tools in studying. It makes sense for a spell like this one to incorporate some memory-boosting tricks.

Lemon and other citrus scents help promote a sense of alertness because of the sharpness of the smell. Alertness is important in information processing and retention. This is why I also recommend a restful sleep (or even a nap) before studying. Have a lay-down, and then do something mild but active to get awake and alert like a short walk before sitting down to read.

Also, scent is very closely related to emotion and memory, so having a distinctive smell around associates it with what you are reading. Then having a similar scent available when you need the information helps bring the information back.

Repetition also helps, especially active actions like reading, then re-writing the information yourself in your own words. It is time consuming, but it makes the brain translate the information and actively use it. A similar method is to have a study partner where you can describe what you are reading to them, have them ask questions, and otherwise help you actively engage the information. Basically, play teacher for someone else.

Adding a chant and affirmation at the end of study also helps to reinforce confidence and sets an intent of success. Doubts and second-guessing yourself causes a lot of issue for people; I know I have more than once changed an answer from my first thought to a different one because of doubt, and found later my first thought was the right one.

About the only thing that I might advise about the spell is that it dies not replace study. You still need to do that part. But I imagine it would enhance the effectiveness of your efforts.

It appears the instructions and everyone's responses are pretty straight forward. The only way to truly know if it works and its difficulty is to do it yourself.
