Getting Rid of A Spell?

I know some ways to get rid of a spell when it has either been completed, or if it failed, or if you need to renew it, things like burying it if its not harmful to the earth, but I want to know other ways. Are there other ways? Thanks for taking time to respond! :) -Kar

There is one I came up with not too long ago, I've coined it as a 'stitch up' spell... I guess we'll see if the name sticks!

It seems a little involved, but it is meant to be as I was looking at ways to pull back and cancel more potent/complicated workings.

Knitting or crochet works best, but simple knot tying can be used with a little creativity. All you want is some wool/yarn of an appropriate color to the intent of the original working, and knitting needles or a crochet hook.

Start a chain, and build it while mentally re-creating the process you undertook in the original working. Step by step, tool by tool, thought word and deed. Once you have completed re-living the original process end the row, flip, and start a second one. Repeat for that row and then also a third one.

While doing this have a mindset of the stitching sucking up the original working, binding it to the woven yarn.

Do not undo the pattern just yet, instead set it aside to make three more rows the next day in the same fashion. Then once more a third time the following day- giving you a knitted patch of nine rows over three days. Don't worry about knotting the final stitch.

The final step is to place the patch onto a plate of salt, or on the ground outside in a natural place. Put a hand over the patch to hold it down while you pull the thread, undoing the rows. As each row comes apart, make an affirmation of dissolving or releasing away the intent of the original spell, and letting the energies dissipate.

I would use a statement like "What was done, be undone. What was bound, be released. Magic be dismissed from your task." Or something along those lines.

I like to dismantle spells according to how it was made.

An ingredient used first, will be dismantled last.

For this reason many of my spells are very long term workings, candle spells which in a way take care of themselves (burning), and small charms that are usually crystals programmed and carried which are able to be used on particular days, or for a shorter period of time.

My main method, is that of dismantling. Since it can be work to dismantle in a particular fashion, I like long term spell workings, or quick candle workings.

If I use my own personal energy then I focus on drawing it back into myself from whatever object I've placed my energy in. This is how I normally cast spells: placing energy into them based on feeling and simultaneously thinking a phrase at the object for what I want it to do. E.G: "I enchant this stone bird to keep my room at the perfect temperature even if the windows are open or closed. Whenever I leave the house the enchantment de activates and whenever I re enter the property it re activates" a couple of times and so to de activate it I just focus on withdrawing my energy

I prefer to will the energy back into myself or into the earth. Kind of like sending an electric bolt into the universe and than taking it back and either putting it somewhere else or returning it back to the source.

I cast a circle, and start with a prayer of thanks for the spells completion. Then I dismantle the items in reverse order as previously suggested. Cleanse items I'm keeping, discard items I'm not keeping. Cleanse area and self, to remove any residual magick. Take down circle and ground self.

I don't like the thought of taking the spells energy into myself in case the spell then effects me. Especially not good when banishing, cursing or even love spells.
