Herbs

So I'm a beginner witch and I was wondering if there are any common herbs or other supplies I should always have on hand or are used in most potions/spells.

Many use herbs for cleansing areas smudging you will find it mentioned all over the site.
The herbs are mostly sage but there are others.
One herb I know works well is Bay leaf, you can buy this from your market for cooking with.
It absorbs huge amounts of negativity and can be used as a protection shield of sorts.
Place a leaf in each of your pockets and at the end of the day burn them.
There are other spells you can do with Bay leaf, but the pocket method is its natural ability.
Always good to have protection in magic especially when you have to do nothing to make it work.
