Image caching

As many of you know, there is a long time issue with image caching. When you change a profile pic for example it may still show the old one.

There are several solutions available for this, unfortunately the best require rewriting a significant amount of code, which I would rather not do at this time.

However, I was able to make one improvement with the caching, that now, the issue should not persist for any longer than 1 hour after you change the image. I made another change that some people will see the change immediately, but thats a browser specific thing. So it will work for some and not for others,

To those using mobile I've noticed I am able to get my profile photo to change essentially very quickly, by going to the 3 dots at the top of my browser which brings down a list next to where you enter the website you wish for your browser to take you, right next to where you would open multiple tabs. Bringing down this list gives one the option on mobile to request desktop site. Selecting this will bring to to a desktop version of this and other sites on mobile. I notice when I do this the profile picture will change. If I select the option again it will bring me back to the mobile version and the profile photo would be the new one I selected.

I currently use Firefox for a browser. I've not tried this on chrome but will when I find time.

I'm not sure what this means if anything and do not know if in any way applicatable on desktop.

It's probably a late reply, but I'm going to leave a comment here anyway. I've noticed if a person is on an iPad or an iPhone the quickest way to change your profile picture is delete your history. It will log you out of your account, but if you sign back in your profile picture would be changed to the current one of your choice.
