The Mage Question

In the Pictorial Key to the Tarotby AE Waite explains the ouroboros around the magician's waist as a representationof "eternity of attainment in the spirit". Can you break down what AE Waite meant by this? Thank you x

I'm really just taking a wide guess here as I try to remember, but the Mag is normally the card which talks about you having the power to do anything you put your mind to. Having it around the waist is symbolic in itself as it is close to your third Charka which deals with inner strength and believing that you can do whatever you want to by just knowing you can do it. Have it around him could symbolic that the mag is never alone for spirit lives within and he can get the job done.

With it being around his waist it might be a tight fit. There for making it hard for him to breath, making him believe that he can't do the task at hand even though he has all the tools set out in front of him to set himself free. This could be symbolic in clouding our judgment about what we can and can't do. In other words don't stop chasing after your goal. At least this is how I see.
