Sorry if this is the wrong place it seemed best fit here.
Do u no any pagans that take their myths as actual fact? I mean like christain do. From what I noticed its not that we dont believe in them. but their more like metaphor or just what ancient peoples used to describe why things are how they are

I believe that no matter your faith background it is Faith that dictates the validity of your particular path. Myth legend and lore all has its place in paganism as well as Christianity. It is up to the individual practitioner to believe or not to believe. Moreover, metaphorical meanings are interpreted by individuals. Yes there will be some group thought and general interpretation, but just because a particular path uses metaphors doesn't invalidate their path.

there are some Christians who take biblical stories as symbolic and not historical fact [Noah for example, there are historical floods in the Mesopotamian empire, and it would be considered "the world" to someone who only knows a handful of lands, so one could argue God flooded Noah's world and not the whole world. while there are those who take it as fact, the majority do not. See also the creation myth, Moses, and many of the overlooked rules of the book] Pagans are the same way, some see it as historically accurate, many see them as morality tales or some other holy script to take solace in. I believe in The Great Rite, where the Lord and Lady come together and their combined energy created the universe [new meaning to "the big bang" *snicker* but I see it as a scientific and spiritual explaination] I also work with various deities from various regions [specifically Germanic/Saxon and Egyptian] and how I see their myths I see it as tales that made the deities who they are, why they act the way they do, and a morality tale. did they actually happen? on a separate plane maybe, but not physically. i feel it might be a type of spiritual telephone that after being told over the ages, embellishments were added and the pond became an ocean, or the kitten became a lion. at the end of the day it's what you take out of the tale that matters to you.
