Fear of the dark

Hello, I write this beacuse I'd like some suggestion about a problem I have with darkness: I have a huge fear of dark places, not only small places but also in the open air or even my house when the lights are off. When it's dark and black I just feel very anxious and ( I know it sounds stupid ) I'm scared something might hide in the dark. I'm 21 and it is really becoming a problem to live with this fear. I'm also terribly scared to be outside, especially in the nature, after sunset. I just can't explain why but
it makes me feel uncomfortable and I had panic attacks in some occasions. I don't know if you guys can help me with a spell or something else, I'm ready to try everything.

Thanks everybody, it means a lot to me!

Funny how your name is phobia but j instead of i.

Anyway spells are best made by the person, I'll put myself in your shoes but it's hard to relate to this. If you feel scared alone in the dark, is it the same with friends around you? I know you can't just bring your friends over every night, but there are these things called thought forms which you should research here. Create a bunch with the intent to protect you in the night.

My only assumption is you need some sort of protection to reassure your safety. Maybe create an energy bubble around yourself (imagine your energies forming a spherical barrier around you that follows wherever you go) and then see if you can go outside.

I'm not sure if you thought this but why not bring a lantern or flashlight with you when you go outside?

Well I have these feelings even when I'm with my friends or my girlfriend, also if I have a flashlight, a phone or something like that. Mostly when it's night and I can't see everything.

If it's to the point that's it's interfering with your life and giving you panic attacks, it might be a good idea to seek help from a therapist. Specific phobias are a treatable disorder, so if that's what's happening with you a therapist could be very helpful. I've had similar experiences and therapy has been phenomenally helpful in dealing with anxiety.

I treat my anxiety with herbalism sometimes. You could drink teas with herbs that are known to relieve anxiety regularly. Be cautious about this if you have allergies, and if you're taking medication be sure the herbs don't interact with it in any way. Also make sure you aren't taking something that could be dangerous adding lavender to tea is fine, but don't go experimenting with horse nettle if you aren't experienced with herbs and toxicology.

I use candles to represent anxiety if I'm having a bad day, and burn candles to "burn away" anxiety. It's a simple spell but I've found it to be effective.

I'd personally only recommend those things in addition to, not instead of, treatment. I tend believe that in cases like this, magick should be used to assist the mundane.

I hope that helps!
