A couple of days ago, my coven had a seance. We were able to contact my grandfather. He told me that he is one of my spirit guides. Before we said goodbye, I asked him to help me when I do tarot spreads to communicate with spirits.
Last night I did my first tarot spread since the seance and I could feel the energy in the room increase. Although I wasn't doing a spirit communication spread (just a simple Past Present Future reading), I could feel his presence in the room with me.
This morning, I attempted to do a spread to communicate with my spirit guides. I called on my grandpa by name, asking him to come to the reading. Although the energy did slightly increase, it was nowhere near on the level of the other two times, nor did it linger for very long, as if he had come into the room and then immediately turned around and walked back out.
Is it possible for spirits to become tired from communicating with the physical plane? If so, how long does it normally take them to "recharge"? Is there any way that I can help him recover more quickly?
Hardly an expert, but I do know that spirits can quickly and easily run out of energy. They can feed off of the energy of electrical devices though. Maybe next time you do a tarot reading you could keep an electrical device nearby that you don't really use, but nevertheless is fully charged. If you notice the battery drains super quick, that's normally a sign a spirit is present.
Other sources of energy could be used, although my knowledge is limited. Just a few suggestions off the top of my head; high energy crystals, rocks, candles, etc...
I don't know how long it takes for spirits to recharge. It probably takes anywhere between a few hours and maybe a few weeks.
Those are all good suggestions and as someone who works with spirits as a part of my practice for the last 11 years, it various from spirit to spirit how long they need for their energy to regenerate enough so they can help you again. Some i work with can only be with me for 4 hours and then they need to rest their engery.I would also like to add on that grounding your energy can help with speaking with spirits. Next time your able maybe you could ask your grandfather how long he thinks he needs? It's like if you work a long day and you need some time to rest.
