Over the years I have used many things and I still do. I have sketch pads that I cut in half and taped together, binders, small lined journals, big lined journals, notebooks, note pads, computer documents, and pdfs. Use what you want, try new things. Make it yours and don't judge your book by someone else's

Honestly? I don't have one, or at least not the standard ''official BoS''. I have notebooks filled with scrap pieces of paper, notes scribbled everywhere, etc. When Ifeel its time to organize it, I will. Until then, it is what it is. Don't rush it, because there are plenty and more than enough notes you will be taking during your journey. When the time is right for you to begin cataloging your book, you will know.

I am using a binder for now. I want to find a really nice looking journal type book to transfer stuff into later on. I just haven't found one that speaks to me yet. I feel as though when I find it I will know. Perhaps the same goes for your situation.

My favorite thing to use is large recipe cards and a recipe box. The cards can be reorganized at will. I have even printed out information and just taped it to the cards.

You can also make yours. Design the cover that you see in your mind. Make it and remake until it looks like you want it. There's no hurry. I also make notes and take pictures and tape them into my folder. Everytime I plan out how I want to do something,it always ends up different.lol

I also wonder where the more experienced people get their information. I'm so worried that the information I am receiving is capitalized (I'm in the USA) so I don't know if I can trust a more modern book. Where can I find more original texts that aren't affected by the desire for money off of beginners? I want to start creating and reading rituals and writing them down on more traditional papers with "traditional" inks... I just personally feel it will affect my sort of craft.

I use a simple lined Moleskine book. It's very simple and sleek. I prefer the lined pages to the blank ones. Of course it's personal preference. It is full of sticky notes and extra papers clipped to the pages. I love it that way. It feels so real and so me. Perhaps allow something to call to you before you begin writing in it.
