Limitations?

Hi, I am relatively new to magic/magick and I am wanting to know what the limitations of magic/magick are? Such as is it possible to use a spell to grow wings, become a shapeshifter, etc. Now I know a lot of you have different opinions, all I ask is to not post rude things saying "You should know better than to believe that" etc.

Thank you :)

Basically, if it seems like something that came out of a fantasy novel or a Hollywood film then it is unlikely that a spell is real. One pretty solid rule is that if the spell requires a change in your DNA such as becoming a shapeshifter, growing wings, turning into a vampire, etc then the spell is fake. Magic cannot do that for you.

There is an excellent book called " Spells and How They Work " by Janet and Stewart Farrar that you might want to read to have a better understanding of real magic as opposed to the Harry Potter sort.

I have also made a list of the slightly-less-obvious limitations of magick in my Book Of Shadows. (The list is by no means limited to this, there are moreI haven't thought of).

> curing terminal illness
> changing your physical appearance (eye colour, extreme weight loss, fast hair growth)
> stopping world wars
> receiving an unrealistic amount of money out of nowhere
> instant death by no reason
> curing world hunger
> bringing a criminal to justice without informing police
> changing someone's sexual preferences
> erasing someone's memory
> instantly curing mental health issues like depression, bipolar, schizophrenia
> to make you emotionless/empty inside
> instantly completely changing someone's attitude towards you
> instantly gaining a new skill without practising (e.g. learning a language, playing an instrument)

It's important to note that a lot of these are to do with time. Some of these may be possible over a very long period of time, other list items are simply impossible.

Please take in tomind that you may receive different responses from different cultures some people have not had dealings with particular crafts. And also note that psychological mind conditioningalso affects one's perception and abilities to understand.
