Identifying necklace

My mother gave me this necklace of sorts and I can't seem to identify its purpose. (I'm fairly new to this site as well and I don't quite know how to upload an image of it.)

It seems to be developed off of the 108-sandalwood prayer beads in Hinduism, but 18 beads have been replaced with gemstones.

In the order (Tiger's eye - Onyx - Lapis Lazuli - Aventurine - Yellow agate - Moonstone - Pink Quartz - Amethyst - Citrine) and 9 in reverse.
Between the two citrines, there's a branch where there's a (Clear Quartz - Lava stone - A single angel's wing).

If anyone would be kind enough to explain what its purpose would be, I would appreciate it. My mother gave it to me on New Year's Eve of 2018, and told me not to take it off.

Some of those gems can be found in chakra necklaces. You said it's like prayer beads, so it most likely is just that with gemstone flare inspired by chakra stones.
