I'm Not Afraid Anymore

Has anyone else reached a point in their life where the supernatural just doesn't phase you anymore? Like, you could be with a bunch of friends at a supposed haunted house or just a creepy place in general and everyone's on edge and they jump and scream at every small noise, but you're kind of just there like... really guys? Or someone might be telling you a story about their experience with a ghost and you can't help but come up with a million different possibilities of what else it could have been?

I don't necessarily mean to say that I've "fallen from faith". I genuinely do believe in spirits and the supernatural. I just don't think they're as communicative with humans as much as I used to believe. I used to be genuinely terrified of the dark, let alone sleeping in complete darkness. Now any light on at night annoys me and keep me up for hours.

Has any one else experienced this? What are some thoughts on spirits and other spiritual entities in regards to communications and "hauntings"?

Part of it is growing up, part of it is getting the knowledge.

People who study the paranormal, myself included, tend to know that there might be a reason behind the most " complex " of things. We do both research and experience. The more you get of the two, the more the fear factor will decrease. Living it so much, studying it for hours, simply makes the fear go away. I've been in to some really creepy places, places that will give chills down your spine and I always have that small fear inside of me, but nothing that will make me want to leave it.

In my opinion people get so scared of normal things, such has the dark, because there are many movies and whatnot, that portrait the darkness has something scary, as if something is going to pop out and get you. That just increases the fear factor that's already present in a person. Let's not forget the childhood traumas one might have that will just boost the fear.

The more knowledge and experience you get with these things, the more you debunk that fear. Therefor it just looks normal to you. You are so used to the fear factor that you just " laugh " when others get scared over the smallest of things. This is how I view it.

Once you understand that they're not here to harm you, you aren't afraid anymore. It's simple.
