Helping With A Break Up

So I was thinking of performing this little ritual and wanted to maybe get some advice.and maybe some ideas.

I've been going through a really rough time emotionally and mentally. My ex had broken up with me about 5 months ago, I thought I was finally getting over him and I feel like I took 100 steps backward. I'm determined to move forward into a better state of mind but that's proving harder and harder to do.

I was thinking of buying a candle and letting it burn all the way through, symbolizing the flame as love and watching it fade out until the candle is completely burned out or the flame goes out on its own. I also wanted to relight the flame onto another fresh candle, symbolizing that love transfer, maybe the candle representing friends, family, my support group. Or maybe even the potential of finding another love.

I can definitely tell there's an idea festering but I think it needs help coming into fruition. I'd love to hear some ideas from others. Maybe even some advice? I've done a lot of meditation and self searching. I know what I had is gone. I've done a really good job looking at my faults and his faults. Why it failed. What I need to work on and how I can consciously make better decisions on how I handle negative situations and my emotions. I get all of that.

But like I said it would be wonderful to hear some suggestions. Thanks.

I'm sorry to hear, breakups can be pretty rough
There are several spells I found, click on the link

And besides magick, make a list of everything that was bad about him, put on some Taylor Swift songs, and tell yourself that you are much better off without him:) However, best of luck and things will get better

This is pretty much what I was talking about in a forum post; what is the importance of symbols and ritual instruction? Your presentation of your own ritual with the candles and the transferring (which sounds like a great idea to me) hits it pretty well according to my own philosophy on magick.

I believe in the power of intent and the symbols that we use that are important to us are strictly there to channel that intent. I'm pretty new to this, so clearly not the end all be all advice, but I figured I'd throw in my 2 cents since it was a great example of what was on my mind a few minutes before.

Hope you find something that works!

I think what you have here seems good and well thought/put together. However you must remember that it can take up to more than 1 year to fully get over a big love, be it by family, relationships, friends, etc. This doesn't have to do with self-searching, etc. Because you might know why it failed or that it is irrational to still be on it, however feelings don't have that logic.

Remember that it's perfectly normal to take step backs, just do not let that control you. That's my mundane advice.

In terms of magick, like I said, it seems like a good idea. I do not know how you usually work but you could incorporate sigils, runes, etc. on to the candles to manifest your desire of change. Maybe ask a deity, if you work with any, to help you.

I like what the others have stated, I will not elaborate much, as they have pretty much covered everything, but I will suggest keeping your mind busy and involve yourself in something that requires you full attention, a sport, hobby, what have you. As for you idea concerning the Magickal approach, I think it is good. And if you would like, can even do a rite of metaphorical death to help facilitate the healing and of letting go of the past.
