Do I need a specific language when using magic or can I create my own language then use it?

Your normal language is fine.

You don't even need a language to cast spells (though it does help!). Any language will do, and if you would like to make your own language specifically for casting spells, go ahead! That would be quite impressive and I'd love to hear how it turns out!

Ciri, what do you mean there's no language required?

Though I agree with Nord. In magick there's no language set in default. I use English and yet I am not native in the language. Just as other people use other languages. Go with what feels right to you.

I mean that you can cast a spell without using words that are in a language. Such as making up sounds or words but still being able to focuson intent. But also, I may be wrong or categorizing this wrong, not all spells require words becauseintent doesn't require words to have. A practice that isn't a spell that doesn't require words is energy cleansing so I'll use that to explain what I mean. When visualizing to cleanse yourself you don't have to use words. You just focus on what you want to happen, you see it, but you don't need words. Words can help guide your focus and keep your mind on topic. They also help your intent be stronger as some people love to use words to get into it.Similarly, if you want to cast a spell to make other's words not effect you as much (for example), you don't have to use words. When people say things I don't want to effect me (because I'm a pretty thin skinned person) I visualizethere is a barrier between me and them and their words bounce off it.

Am I wrong? If so please don't hesitate to correct me!

There's always a good chance that I'm just plain wrong or am I talking about something completely different. There are a few things I know I definitely have wrong and a lot of things that are done completely differently by the people on this site than me. I don't want to be wrong, so correcting me when I am is always appreciated! Maybe I should start labeling my posts with a warning at the bottom that I'm a more a student than anything. That way people will take my posts with a grain of salt and won't be as compelled to listen to them.
