About music and magick

Okay, I have some info to add here, and some info to ask here.

I have thought on this for quite some time, And I have searched, I cannot find much on this subject, So please excuse the lesser resources. I will be mentioning anime, books etc. because that's how I think. I connect what I do not know with what I do know .

As I understand, Sound by itself alone is very powerful, We can shatter glass at a certain pitch and volume, ( Body's and cars too if you raise it high enough ) It can travel very fast, ( not at lightspeed but pretty darn fast ).

In the Inheritance Cycle books, Eragon asks his mentor, why they have to speak their spells if they can cast through thought alone. His mentor replies that while this is true, you do not need sound to make your spell, its much harder, as our thoughts go very fast and often jump from one thing to another, ( You would have to have complete focus to do it, any stray thought could cause your spell to blow up in your face. ) Speaking the spell makes it easier to direct and control.

Music, makes the magick more powerful, as you are not only singing your spell, but adding energy to it, to make it stronger, this is why in some cases of fiction spell casters sing. However, you can add energy to it through instruments and not singing. The more fast pace and moving the music is, the more likely powerful your spell will be.

Am I correct or close to it? Like I said I have not been able to find much about music/sound and what it affects pertaining to magick, I am unsure and am asking for help.

You are correct. Sound can help to raise vibration and energy so it can make your workings more powerful by adding to it. Also as you pointed out, it is not limited to only vocal sounds or even just musical instruments. Sometimes even the sound of the wind or waves crashing carries with an energy that can be utilized.

You would be correct.

Vibrations, energies, frequencies, and light moreorless are an engine which, combined, has formed our world and universe. I say engine because they are co-dependent of one another, and it creates synchronous life. When you tap into, or use this to your advantage, it allows one to tap into a river of life/energy which is where the basis of most of our spellcraft comes from.

To cast a spell, one raises energy using amplifiers such as crystals, wands, herbs, etc. You tap into the energy and the meaning behind these items. When you use vibrations, it's using an alternative method that can achieve unexpected results such as raising too much energy, or directing it improperly.

By any definition I wouldn't say that combining frequencies is easy, but with practice you will experience results, some positive and negative. Just keep in mind that working with alternative methods will have alternative results.

Agreed, sound is a very powerful tool. Music especially so!

my own practice with music has been listening and not quite making my own, yet. I have found the associated feelings to certain songs whether intentional or organic from repeated listening to be brought up instantaneously when listened to. Not many things can do that effectively! music is an excellent tool.

If your musical taste is rather wide, you now have variety of altered states of consciousness to choose from. Fill the mind with exquisite things.

As stated above you are correct. Music is a very powerful tool in magick. I often use music in my practices. Music is occasionally used in meditation to get one into a meditative state, however, that's not the case for everyone, I personally feel it's more useful. Music is very very powerful in many peoples lives and has empowered them, and most of the time music calms me down when I'm upset or angry, it keeps my emotions under control. So if you are trying to get in a specific mood for magick I suggest some of your favorite tunes, it doesn't have to be meditation music!

Hmm, thats good advice. I already happen to use music a lot anyway. When I work here, or anywhere in general, I always have some kind of music playing.

Well this is true, music and voice has a way with many things and creates a long fast stigma of energy which we channel. Because we put that connection and thought into passing our voice in a song or creating music therefore it makes a long discharge of frequent energy

Like binearaul beats, the music we listen to is on tones like waves which we can't see but can hear these waves are called alpha, beta and gamma waves which pitch in as high or low pitches.
These low and high pitches tune into parts of our body like they use them for meditation on chakras (third eye our pineal gland which is part of the brain).
Like singing the tones we create strengthen casting and casters(ourselves) with the passing energy we have forged out our soul.

I have shared a little knowledge on the subject you foretold hope in can be in little use to you.
Thanks :) lustre
