I've heard of similar happenings and I think is possible to tap into another world from your dreams.

While psychology can be a very good beginning to dream interpretation, have in mind that dreams are quite personal, for instance, a symbol that has usually a positive meaning for most people could be a negative one for a certain person. Your own interpretation will probably be the most truthful one.

Perhaps reading "Memories, Dreams, Reflections by Carl G. Jung" on pdf is a book for you to learn more about dreams. I've always gone by his theories.

I'm getting more curious about it now.
In my dreams...
I keep coming across others (people or creatures) who insist on "testing" me.
It's always like I'm expected to fight, but I don't end up fighting, myself.
There's another body, an avatar of sorts, that appears and I can control from a distance.

One of the beings called itself "Drauga", and told me that I'm "not ready".
Another one repeatedly asked "Why are you holding back?".

What does this even mean?

1). Are those we meet in our dreams spirits or spiritual beings?
Depends. From my personal experience I personally would consider different individuals who play the role as themselves rather then the old dream symbol meaning where these ppl represent different aspects of ones self. So again from personal experience I have a thing for this guy and until one night I had a dream where I received a greeting card from him where he was expressing his Honest Emotions Andy thoughts he had kept to himself. Now in the morning my tarot cards confirmed that my soul make contact with the guys higher self to pass on the message to me. You see I’m a highly spiritual person and psychic upon a few levels and at times I relay heavily upon my dreams to receive news, warnings and etc upon a psychic level. So to answer your question you seriously need to go with your gut feeling and make that judgement for yourself overall.

2). Can our dreams dreams join with others?
I dunno, but I do know is that you can look into someone else’s dreams through their POV. I’ve discovered a simple spell where it can be used to look 8nto another POV to reveal how/why someone said/done or thought such and such towards you and the dream within itself is the answer to your question.

You can try experiments. :-) Meditations before sleep - before bedtime. For example meditation on a journey, on a walking tour. Or on a next day. And you will see....

More for a point of view than informational...

Have you considered that your ability to fight using the avatar is not the test, but to test your actual limits(perhaps while using the avatar, perhaps to get rid of the avatar)?

In my own dreams, when I am myself, I am more capable than if I am in a different form. While using another body I can typically press the limits of that person's/thing's capabilities and garner some of their knowledge of a situation. But, when I am in my own body I can create and do a great many things (create a door in a blank concrete wall just by thinking about it, fly, warp time and space, change my body, take over the space someone else was occupying [that gets messy] , etcetera). All that said, usually I have started out in another body, stuck and limited by the parameters of that dream/world/whatever you will call it and getting out of that form ends up being my first goal so I can actually resolve whatever situation I happen to be in.

I can try some meditation.
Though, I'm not sure what you're saying it is that I will see...

My original statement ended with a direct request for others' points of view, so your response is perfect. Your thoughts on this are much appreciated.
I'm uncertain of how I would get rid of the avatar, honestly. I rarely realize I'm using it until after I've awoken.
I thought about it for a while and that could be what the one meant about "holding back".
Would that mean I'm holding myself back with this avatar?

Taking into consideration what an avatar tends to be (as a representation of something greater than itself), it seems plausible to me that it would be something holding you back. Avatars through history of cultures, that I can recall, end up being a lesser being than that which it came from; Avatars of gods tend to embody a particular aspect of them or serve a particular purpose, avatars of demons rarely have the demon's full arsenal of power, and taking modern terminology, an avatar is just a representation of you. As a representation, you wouldn't expect it to be all you are any more than you would expect a tombstone to share the feelings and memories of the person it represents.

I would say to be careful though. As much as an avatar can serve as a limiter for you, it could also be limiting what happens to you(like a personal meat shield). If you fight in place of your avatar, there's no reason that what damage or effects it would normally suffer will not be placed upon you directly.

You make good points.
Thinking on it, every representation of an avatar that I've come across has been as you describe.
That using it acts in part as a form of protection wasn't something I considered...
Again, thank you very much for sharing your thoughts.
