Herbs for a better sleep?

I very often have restless sleep, or even no sleep at all. Are there any good herbs I can burn through incense to help me, or herbs I can use in spells? Anything would be nice, thank you.

Valerian, chamomile, lavender, catnip; these are four oft-recommended herbs every time this question is asked.

Another great herb is Kava Kava. They make it into a supplement that you can buy. It helps calm the mind and also relaxes you and it is great if you are prone to anxiety as well, which can be a cause of restless and sleepless nights.

All of the above herbs are great! (Although I think Kava is suupernasty esp. in tea.) I also find that mint tea is very calming.

Lau Elder, of course Kava kava is nasty! Its very name means 'bitter.' There's a reason it is called, "Bitter, bitter!"

It's why taking it as a capsule is recommended, if someone wishes to use it.

I rub lavender oil on my son's feet, I just have always applied it that way (honestly because its less likely to smear on your sheets and stain), but I would recommend a combination of herbs maybe mint tea, in addition to a progressive meditation cycle. Basically the simplest one would be to tense up your muscles, starting from the top of your head and relax them, working each part of your body all the way down to your toes. Its more psychological in feeling your body going limp, but it is a nice exercise and if done each night your body will become used to it like a trigger and known "oh hey its bed time!"

There is no right or wrong way, I usually start with my head, scrunching up my scalp then working my face (eyes, nose all scrunched up then relax) move to the neck, etc..

Restless sleep is an indicator for many different things. Take a look at what is happening around you, you might just be overly sensitive to changes. Any major changes at work, relationships, sensing an event that might be approaching? Consider those as well for a cause. There is usually a reason. Once you identify it, it will help with some anxiety and stress reduction.

Good luck!

Traditional Medicinals brand has a lavender chamomile tea I find works well. I like it with a little almond milk some nights before bed. Yogi is another good brand that has honey lavender and calming chamomile tea. I've tried those and they're pretty nice.

You could also make an oil and spritz it on your pillow. Using a base carrier oil and calming essential oils diluted to the right amount. That or rice in a sachet with a little essential oil to soak it up. You can put that under your pillow or in your pillow case. That or fill the sachet with dried herbs. I hope you are able to sleep better!

Hello there,
I recommend essential oils, candles, incense, and tea to help with sleeping problems. Try them out to see which one works best for you.
The beauty of essential oils is that they can be used in a variety of ways such as in a bath, simply a drop in a tissue and smelling it, giving yourself a massage, using them as a room spray, on your pillow, in a humidifier. Some great oils for this are lavender, chamomile, linden blosson, clary sage, neroli, marjoram, ormenis flower, petitigrain, sandalwood, and ylan ylang, My absolute favorite is lavender since it has no reactions it may be used for children and pregnant women as well. Some oils and herbs have reactions and may not be used for people with certain conditions such as epilepsy. and so forth so do some research. Also make sure it is indeed 100% essential oil.
Now for tea, chamomile tea is great, peppermint tea as well.
For candles, you may find great candles out there, make sure they are soy! They burn longer and are mostly handmade. Also the beauty of candles is watching them in the dark they're relaxing but you have to make sure you get up and turn them off.
For incense, there are a ton of incense out there. Some people don't like incense because it's kind of smoky but if you get some good quality incense you will notice a huge difference, an incense I recommend for sleep is rose actually! It's so relaxing, the great thing about incense is as long as you have a good holder in a safe place it will burn out and "turn off" on itself. Always practice fire safety though.
I can keep going but I think I gave you plenty of info to start with. If you have any questions on how to find good essential oils what to look for in them, proper names, anything! Please message me. If you'd like information on how to use them or use anything above message me.
A book I recommend for essential oils is "Essential Aromatherapy: a pocket guyde to essential oils & aromatherapy by Susan Wormwood & Valerie Ann Worwood"

Namaste & Sweet dreams
