From my experience Hekate is a very mysterious goddess. While she is a goddess of the moon, crossroads and magic, she is also considered the keeper of keys: which means she holds the door open to the considerable few that want to know the secrets of what's hidden. As well as she decides if the door shall open at all. When I've worked with her there is less outright communication than with other deities I have relationships with. I'm not given an answer unless I end up needing it. But when I am the answers I need simply come to fruition right in front of me, I feels less directly 'spoken to' even though the answers are often more evident for me to go after.

Some of her symbols include lit torches (usually two), keys, dogs and crossroads. She is also associated with ghosts and the dead, and was sometimes depicted with three faces, especially when seen as the goddess of the crossroads. When you come to a crossroad there are three paths to choose other than the one from which you came.

I hope this information helps.

Remember that Deities are not just ingredients to add to a spell. And commanding a Deity to do something for you is generally considered rude.

If you wish to work with a specific Deity then you start by building a relationship with them. Learn as much as you can about them. Make an altar to them and give regular offerings. Honor them and thank them for being in your life. Et cetera.

Think of it this way. If a child more apt to get his wishes granted if he goes up to a stranger on the street or if he goes and asks his parent? That is how it works with the Gods as well.

There is some excellent information about Hecate/Hekate to start out with athttp://www.theoi.com/Khthonios/Hekate.html

In my experience Hekate only helps when she feels her help is needed. Perhaps this is not a cause she stands behind. A revenge spell is something I personally would never have come to her for. Offerings or not.

And deities typically will not help you if they feel as if they have not been properly respected inside as well as outside of your need for them.

I typically toss my offerings outside (not directly outside but somewhere they won't bother anyone) so they can make use to nature after they've made use as offerings. I don't do this if it is anything harmful to nature though, such as things that contain salt like homemade offering stones (which are often made of salted dough), or things that aren't biodegradable.

What is Hecate best at working with? Like witchcraft and spellwork wise. How do I reach out to her? What are some signs of hers that shes acknowledged me calling to me?
