Raven in my house

Yesterday, while I was cleaning my kitchen I've heard a tapping glass noise coming from my entrance door. I thought that could be some acquaintances who just left a few minutes before and maybe they forget something. Looking through the glass door I haven't seen any silhouette, but when I open the door was a young raven bird at my step door and he entered into my house. It is really odd to me that he doesn't seem scared or willing to go out. I gave him food and water, but he didn't touch anything so far. I am concerned for his wellbeing. Shall I take him to a vet or anyone other suggestions?

I highly recommend don't send it to a vet, I knew a family who found a baby owl, something was wrong with it. But nothing too life threatening. They still sent it to the vet and they're end up putting it down, simply because what was wrong with it wasnt going to last long in the wide despite the family looking after it for three days.

As for the Raven he's probably just use to humans. I am not a bird expected, but most of the birds that I've seen about. Such as magpies and crows, don't normally fear human. It's also nice that your giving it some food and water, but don't make a habit of it. Water great and highly recommend to leave some for bids in general. But food on the other hand, can turn the bird of hunting. Call me a crazy bird person, but try talking to the Raven. I do that a lot to the birds I see and to the birds that come by the house. In all, just let it be.

Thanks for your reply.I think you're right and I wouldn't go to the vet. He starting eating.If is a madness talking to birds I can be counted too, as I've talked to 'my raven' from the beginning and I even named him. Odd???

No, not at all. I think that's a lovely ideas. I like to see it like this, treat animals with respect and love, after all there the key to natural. And it's lovely to hear the Raven doing well.

I saw your post and interested, why? because i love pets. And it is also a good idea you have not taken it to a vet. it is very possible the raven has brought you luck as they are known for bringing good tidings than harm. it might be a sign to something good you have being looking forward to. Though most often times there little rituals that must be made to activate it...

The best thing for your young raven would be to see if there is a bird or wildlife rescue organization in your area. Such groups are specially trained on how to rehabilitate injured or lost wildlife and then return them to the wild.

Honestly when I first read what happened, I cried I was laughing so hard! Not only does it seem that you have been casually adopted, but the bird was polite enough to knock before coming in. It is so unusual and yet also really amazing.

For now I would let him be, and see if he 'asks' to be let out again. It may be that the raven has come by for a visit, or to deliver a message in some way. Even if that message is a simple reminder to carry a sense of wonder. Or, it may just be that he/she decided to adopt you. ^_^

Maybe take a little time to research ravens. Look at their symbolism and what kinds of lore and stories they are associated with. it might carry some insight for you.

I'm kind of jealous of you right now haha! I'm a big animal lover and would love for something like this to happen and so would my cat haha. I agree with the other comments. No Vet, water is good but no food unless you give it what it would eat in the wild like live worms, etc. So it doesn't lose instincts. Enjoy your new friend, you're lucky/blessed!

I'm also kinda jealous because i need a raven right away and if you dont mind can you send the raven to me i'll train it
