For any spell it is best to write it yourself, if you write the spell yourself, you won't need to include any ingredients, although cleansing any items you choose to use is always a good idea.

I know writing my own spell is the best idea but i always feel doubt when it comes to doing so.

How would I cleanse something?

You can cleanse things with sage smoke, smoke in general, moonlight, sunlight, running water, salt water, burying in the Earth.

But not all forms of cleansing are recommended for everything, for example, the crystal malachite cannot be cleansed in water, and salt water can corrode some metals.

What if I wanted to cleanse a neaklace? What would you recommend for that?

I use incense smoke to cleanse my items, incense is super cheap to buy and I personally use jasmine because the smell reminds me of happier times
so i feel the energy shift and i add that intention to all my items i use

Is there a technique to smoking an item? Like an instruction (list?) for example.

It can simply be done by passing the object through the smoke, visualizing the negativity or added energy being taken away by the smoke, at least that is how I do it.

You can buy sage incense, personally my favourite, because it encorporate the sage aspect of cleansing into an incense, so you don't have the cost of buying or making sage sticks. But in reality any incense could be used, especially if the herb has cleansing properties, or you like the smell.
