Of course they do exist!!! Not in physical plane anymore, but on spiritual.
Ahh Genies, when I hear this word I travel back in time..... Genies do exist, they are extremely real as the other you have mentioned. They're not like TV though; they can grant you as many wishes as your heart desires and not only three, but it's not that simple. For instance, in TV Alladin could wish for anything and his Genie would give it for free in no time. It doesn't work like that, wishes from Genies take time to be fullfilled-the time depends on the wish actually. And there's always a price in wishes.
Furthermore, another major difference is that you can be the "master" of the Genie. Genies cannot be bound into objects, you cannot be their master. They have free will and if you try to do something like that..it won't be preety... Eventually, when making wishes you should be extremely clear. Some Genies aren't friendly, and they may twist your words, for fun. There are others who are friendly torwards humans, however no matter of that you should always be extremely clear.
Mermaids exist as well. There are many subspieces of them, just like Genies and Fairies. They're not like TV either. A good portion of them are male, and many of them aren't friendly to humans... If you go near their waters and you find the "appropriate" hostile type, they will grab the chance...
Faeries yeah, but as you see in reality they are different. They are said to be mischievious creatures and protectors of nature. It is said they also tend to be playful, aplear and dissapear objects and that sort of thing.
To sum up, you understand that this is real life and no TV. Each of these creatures can harm you if you're not carefull, but also isn't it amazing that they do exist???...
