They use trial and error usually, if a vampire spell doesn't work for them and they ask others if it worked for them, and everyone agrees that it doesn't work then it isn't real and they will know that.

It seems to be the only reasonably fool-proof way to show people.

Would be good in theory, but tricky in practice.

One, there are laws in certain countries preventing people from teaching minors about religion without parental consent.

Two, 'Paganism' is so broad you cannot make a broad statement, so you would have to type up long responses.

Three, new members join daily, should we mail each one or post the samd information daily?

There are pinned forums and many well written articles explaining 'real magick' or 'the basics' but we still get new users daily asking the same questions. [Which is why many people just copy/paste old posts] this is a site meant for fun, if you want to start a study group [some people have] go for it, if you want to get a group of people together to mail new users or post beginner information in the forums that's fine too, but different people come here for different reasons. I come here for the forums, some people stick to chat [Which I avoid chat] some aren't even here to socialize to but read and/or write articles and spells. [Which could be a blessing or curse but they're having fun]

Also take into the account of mental illness and those with delusions will believe in literal hocus pocus but it is real to them, no matter how it can be proven otherwise.

Afterall, people will believe in what they want to and will adapt their web of beliefs accordingly. Many people do this.... rationalization.

I'm a newbie here.... What do you mean real magic verses fake? What would be fake on here. I'm so far one of those that read/write the articles about "the basics" and other essential info. So again I ask is there something's on this site that I should avoid?

I have always thought that real is in the eye of the beholder! If someone believes one thing and 50 others say they don't, it doesn't make it fake. Yeah know?

Some things are 100% fake no matter how much you believe, you can believe you can fly, but if you jump off a cliff you would still fall.

Spells in the fantasy sections are almost always fake, as are those that promice you riches, eternal life, or transformation into an animal/magickal being.

It is all about common sense, if it seems to fantastical to be true, then it more than likely is.

Such as what Lark has done on these forums, I would reccommend some books such as The Veil's Edge and Modern Magick or a good starter Book of Shadows is the Grimoire of the Green Witch, or the Wiccan year, perhaps even many other books you can find on Amazon.com

There's plenty, and also if you walk into most garage sales and especially thrift stores, I've seen many of llewelyns' books there.

I agree and disagree with both sides in this.

Yes any magic spell can work . There isn't s true " fake " spell .

However . If your going to cast a flight spell Do Not be foolish to think your going to fly.

Here's my rationalization of this topic. If you get a " flight spell" say all the right words. No matter what you will not soar into the sky. Although , flying as other terms if use. It could be an emotionally uplifting spell . What that " sends your spirits Flying" not the typical wings but something that a true spell wouldn't care about. You " flew". Not Clark Kent like but genuinely had an experience where you were buoyed in spirits to feel like you were " flying"
